Xerox 3250 printer

The transparency should have a white peel off strip! Without that the machine doesn't know it feed paper. Some transparency paper will have a backing sheet you peel off after printing. Check Staples for correct type.
This should be the edge that feeds first and should be on the on the non print side. if your not sure which side is printed on (face up / face down) open tray and draw an X on the top sheet.
then print anything and see if it prints over the X. If not then put peel off strip on the side (face up / face down) not printed on .

Feel like an idiot...does the paper load with the print facing downward or upward?

You didn't say what brand and model printer you have so I can't look up a manual and check it for you. But if you don't want to waste a sheet of good stationery or a valuable form (like checks), make a test sheet. Take a plain sheet of paper and mark it along the top edge. Or use a photocopy of the form as a test sheet. Put the test sheet into the printer and print something on it. From the result you'll know how to feed the sheets in the future.

Printer prints ldocuments but will not print

Hello,

In Word you create the envelop, specifying the dimensions and the way you will load it (face up or face down). Then you remove the sheets of paper and place a stack of envelops, and adjust the feeder so that the envelops won't drift while they are being fed.

Hope it helps

You can clean the print head by using the following procedure from the troubleshooting section of the manual:

Take paper out of the printer
Take a single sheet and put it back in - upside down (i.e. shiny side down).
Close the door and wait for the sheet to eject.
Put all the paper back into the printer in the correct orientation (shiny side up), close the lid and print again.

I've discovered even better results by keeping the special blue sheet that comes with each paper pack. I run the special sheet through before I'm about to use the printer for the first time (after not using it for a few days), and also after every three prints. The result is much better printouts for me. The special blue sheet cleans and calibrates the print head. Just put the blue sheet in the paper tray at the bottom of the stack with the bar code facing down and close the lid. It will automatically eject.

Not feeding paper looks like wheels not turning

Look down into the place where the paper goes (the "automatic sheet feeder" or ASF) and you should see a fat wheel with a grey ribbed rubber facing. Place a single sheet of paper in the ASF and do a test print (right click the printer icon and select properties). Watch to see what happens in the ASF. The plastic panel behind the sheet of paper should move forward to push the sheet against the rotating rubber wheel, which should then feed the paper into the print position. If this is not happening, it means something has come adrift inside the ASF system. This will require the printer to be dismantled. Take it to a Technician, or if you want to have a go yourself, post a new comment to this effect and I will provide further assistance on how to proceed.

I have a Dell 946 printer and Im trying to print Avery 8871 business card sheets. When I press print the printer will not feed the sheet through and it says there is no paper. I tried to adjust the...

I looked up the user guide at Dell's website and looked up printing cards.

  • The print side of the cards faces down.
  • The cards are centered on the paper exit tray.
  • You select Automatic, Normal, or Photo print quality.

  • Apparently you need to feed the card stock one page at a time into the printer on TOP of the paper exit try (The card stock will feed in from above the normal paper load try [remove paper from the paper tray] and once printed come back to the same spot.

    How do i make double sided copies for my HP 2840

    When you call up your printer (usually [Ctl][P]) tell it to print even numbered pages only, but in reverse order, This means the last page to be printed will be page 2, and it will be face down on the top of the pile (blank side showing) Take the printed sheets and rotate them so the top (head) of the sheet is feeding back into the machine, with the blank sides up. Now call your print up again and tell it to print the odd pages only. The first sheet to be printed will be page 1 which will print on the blank side of page 2, and all the rest will follow in sequence, with the correct sides up. Works every time. The print control is part of the Windows system, so your application should provide the full functionality.

    Printed sheets are coming out back of printer rather than front. What should I do

    You have the "face up cover" open. You should be able to just pivot this cover up on its hinges and close it. Then the paper will come out the front (face down).

    Printing

    Dear jamin4volks;

    As per this excerpt from the Oki B4350 User manual:

    "FACE UP AND FACE DOWN PRINTING
    For face down printing, make sure the rear paper exit tray is closed (the paper exits from the top of the printer). The paper exit bin on the top of the printer stacks printed pages face down, capacity 150 sheets of 20 lb. paper. Pages printed in reading order (page 1 first) will be sorted in reading order (last page on top, facing down).

    For face up printing, make sure the face up rear paper exit tray is open and the paper guide is extended if required. In this condition, paper will exit via this path, regardless of driver settings. Paper is stacked in reverse order, capacity 50 sheets of 20 lb. paper.

    Always use this tray and the manual feed tray for heavyweight stocks to reduce the possibility of paper jams."

    This manual is available at http://my.okidata.com/mandown.nsf/(MOC-B4350)/BE70FCAF93D577E285256E89005052F9?OpenDocument

    Hope this helps;

    Frank
