Same problem. Just up and quit one day. Played with the unit and found that no water preasure was getting to the holding tank. Water inlet screen seem to be clean, but still no water was getting into unit. I removed the screen and everything started to work again. We have high calicum in our water. Even though the screen looked clean, it was pluged. Now my problem is where do we get new screens?

Hi - I believe the porblems is with the quality of your water, chances are the spray arms are clogged, and perhaps the tubes have other restrictions hindering the wash pumps...

I would suggest giving the unit a thorough service and chek the wash pump to see if you are getting good pressure and spray arm jets are clear..

Cheers

Our GE diswasher is leaving a white film on all the dishes. We are running it on normal wash and heated dry. Can you put vinegar in the dishwasher to clean it out?

If there is not enough water, the dishes would not get cleaned. This could be caused by a partially closed water shut-off valve (located under the sink), or a faulty dishwasher water valve (located at the bottom of the dishwasher, behind the kick panel, on either side).

Also, There is usually two, sometimes three spray arms in a dishwasher. Make sure there is no debris blocking the holes inside each spray arm.

**Water temperature Note***

To get the best results, the water has to be at 120 degrees Fahrenheit when entering the dishwasher.

Concerning the Film:

This problem occurs due to excessive calcium build up inside the dishwasher. Try cleaning your dishwasher unit by using a dishwasher cleaner. There are a few out there, Try Dishwasher Magic. It is the top formula.

I need help

check the water valve (which supplies water to the unit) is open. if so, the solenoid operated valve in your unit would have failed. Get it replaced. May sound silly, but try switching off the power to the unit, wait for 2 mts and switch on. All these microprocessor controlled devices hang at times like our computers. Recycling the power works sometimes

Water coming in stops short of the proper level - not enough water comming in to clean properly. I have to add water.

most dishwashers fill level is determined by time.
If the water pressure is to low, or the flow is restricted by sand or rust cloging the water valve, the unit will not fill with enough water to clean the dishes.

if you are willing to try, and you can use basic hand tools, you might be able to clean a clogged water valve.
first make sure the ELECTRICAL POWER to the unit is up-plugged or turned off. turn off water supply.

Valve is located under unit most can be reached by removing panel on lower front of unit. disconnect water pipe at valve and look for a filter screen inside the valve, remove it, clean it, reinstall it. now reconnect water pipe, and turn water and power back on look under unit and check for water leaks before reinstalling panel.

Once the trigger is released it won't starting spraying again.

I have the same problem. This is the responce for Karcher......

The unloader valve may be sticking, or is dirty. It probably needs to be cleaned and may need to be replaced, it is inexpensive. It gets a lot of use, but extends the life of the pump. The function of the unloader is to allow the machine to run in a bypass mode while the trigger of the gun is closed. First, a lack of high pressure can be caused by: 1. Insufficient water feeding to the unit, so check that the water is turned on all the way and that there are no kinks in the hose. 2. The inlet filter may be clogged. (it will need to be removed and thoroughly cleaned). 3. An internal water leak. 4.Also, low pressure can be caused by worn spray tips. If you have checked the first three with no resolution, the problem is internal and could be as simple as a sticking unloader valve. If you are mechanically inclined, you can clean this valve yourself and greasing the o-rings (use lithium based grease), or take it to a local service center. You do not need to take the pump apar
t. The unloader valve is located under the cover, and is secured with 2 bolts. (Use needle nose pliers to remove the valve) For those units with pressure and volume controls, the unloader is located under the pressure and volume control knobs themselves. Do not take any other bolts off or you will open the pump and lose the pump's oil.

Note: Lithium based grease will prevent future failure of the unloader valve.

Also, check websites such as fixya.com for tips and how-to info particularly on cleaning the unloader valve. Be sure to use lithium grease if you reassemble it.
I am going to check the manuel to see where it's at

Steam comes from wand when set to dispense water.

Check the connection to the boiler from the pump, there is no water going to the boiler. Try this test, remove the brew unit you will see a white plastic valve behind it, carefully lift the small lever on the valve(HOT WATER), if water sprays, then the problen is at the brew unit, if no water then the boiler inlet or outlet is clogged.

Will not clean dishes on the upper rack

Make sure you get water to the dishwasher. Check to see if the water shut-off valve (located under the sink) is open. If you get water to the dishwasher, but there is still no water inside during the fill cycle, the problem might be with a faulty water valve (located at the bottom of the dishwasher, behind the kick panel, on either side), in which case replace the water valve.

I had same problem. Reolace the magnetic reed switch in the level sensor unit. It is a float with a magnet inside which goes up and down a shaft activating the reed switch inside the sensor shaft. The switch is just an ordinary normaly open glass encapusated magnetic reed switch. Carefully hack out the original with a suitable tool but not a drill and slide in a new one. If you can't change the sensor just pull out the power plug and re-plug . This usually resets the circuit. Not a real fix just a temporary work around. Much easier if you can just find a replacement level sensor unit. Good luck.
