It appears your timer/main controller has failed in this instance.

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

Thanks for using FixYa - a 4 THUMBS rating is appreciated for answering your FREE question

if the drain pump is bad or clogged and can't drain the water it won't spin until water is drained.pump number 137221600,it's around 110 dollars, but first get a shop vac, pull out the drain hose from the washer and connect the shop vac to the hose and vac out all the water, you first have to remove the bottom front panel to get at the pump, remove the hoses going to the pump and have the vac ready to clean up any water that still might be in there, then check the pump and see if anything is in there,i've found coins that get into the pump or other debries and clean it out of the pump, then check the rubber boot on the hose, make sure nothing is in there and check the other hose, you can set the shop vac on blow and blow through the drain hose to make sure that's clear, remove any junk you find in any of the hoses and pump, reconnect the pump and hoses, put some water in then set it to drain and spin or rinse and spin,if the water drains and then it spins you're all set if not the pump could be bad,one more thing if the drum doesn't move you could just have a bad door switch, this is the easiest part to fix and i always have a door switch for frigidaire washer, remove the spring the holds the boot seal on.remove the rubber boot on the door switch side, take out the screws that hold the door switch in,and replace it,run it,if the drum starts to move then drain and spin it was the door switch, any error codes come up? good luck, have any questions let me know and hopefully i can help you

Washer wont drain showin IE

Sonia, you either have a failed drain pump, or something has bypassed the filter ( bobby pins are notorious for this ) and is jamming up the pump impeller. If you can set the washer to drain/spin and can hear the pump running, you most likely have a impeller that has broken off of the pump motor shaft and will need to be replaced. If you cannot hear the pump running, and can hear a slight humming noise, then there is something jammed in the pump. The pump can be removed and cleared of the possible foriegn object. I can provide instructions on pump removal if needed.

How do I find the error code? My washer will spin but not drain

remove the toe kick panel at the bottom of your washer and inside you will find the drain pump. once you locate the pump, pull washer from wall so you can tilt it back against the wall. Then remove the cap in the front of the drain pump and clean, if it is clean , set washer back down and remove the wires from pump motor. set your multimeter to VAC and plug into wires. set the washer to drain&spin and start. if you have 120 volts replace the drain pump. if you have no voltage replace main control. go to this guidance and location of parts. http://www.partselect.com/MultiModels.aspx?ModelNum=WFW8400TE&searchTerm=&RefineSearch=0

Washer wont drain pump makes noise Sears model 970-c43072-00 purchased october 2004

The pump is clogged with dirt in the inlet filter and the suction has dropped. Remvoe the pump and do a good clean up job, use the pump to be activatted on desk to test the pumping action. Use a back flush also to clean off all dirt in the pump. If test of pump is good then set it back and test.

Washer leaking from undeneth

Most likely a leaking water pump. Remove the top lid from the washer. Then remove the front panel to access the water pump. The pump is attached to the front of the motor. Remove the pump support clips then remove the pump from the motor. If in question, set the machine to fill with water and look for a water leak at the pump. You can also inspect all other hoses and water connections with the panel removed.

My washer dryer won't drain, is there a drain dial setting? there is a small amount of water that won't drain away. it means the door lock won't release

the problem is either your pump or your hoses. this an easy fix. all you need is a screwdriver and a bucket to catch water. 1st unplug the machine and remove the drain hose from the drain. then try to drain the water from the washer by plugging it back in and setting the washer to drain. if no water comes out of your drain hose then you know your plumbing is ok. next put the drain hose back in the drain and take the cabinet of your washer. you will see your pump with 2 hoses connecting to it. one hose connects to the basket and the other to the drain. disconnect the hose coming from the basket and if water comes out then you know the basket is not blocked with any article of clothing. if both check out ok your problem would be the pump

Won't pump out water at the end of wash or rinse cycle.

I don't know this model at all, but hada similar set of syptoms on an electrolux .....

Just a thought, but have you checked the pump chanber is not impeded by a stray hairgrip, or bit of wire?

The fact it doesn't pump when it should, but allows water to pass when the centrifugal force of a spin cycle builds up, would indicate that maybe its the pump that either has a jammed impeller, or a blown motor (or fuse).
