You can try this, not sure if it will work, browse to this site, and upload you .dat file
http://www.winmaildat.com/

you can save it as an excel spreadsheet i believe and then use Outlook to import from a .csv and import your contacts that way....

If you need help please let me know,

Thanks,
David

How can I open .dbx files ?

To backup the data files, in OE go to Tools > Options > Maintenance > Data Folder. Copy down the location of folder. Navigate to folder and backup

Also do a search for and back up <user>.wab file. This is your contacts files. You need to unhide hidden files to see this file and above folder. In Windows XP, open Windows Explorer or any folder. Click on Tools > Folders Options > View. Check "Show hidden files and folders". If you want to see system files as well, unclick Hide protected operating system files. Click OK.
OR
DBX Viewer Tool found on reader .dbx files, and it can help almost managed to scratch out all the messages from the file! Then save them as separate files, and then put back into OE. While working. Now we have to find the address book, it is also somewhere to go away until I found :

I can not open attachment video in outlook 2007

Don't open it directly, choose with right-button: Save As
Save it into a diferent location like MY Documents or Desktop, and try to open it from there.
If you can't even save it... it's a registry problem (ProtectedFolders)
If you can save but not open, there's something wrong with the file.
Do you have a compatible player to that kind of file?!?!
Try VLC or GOMPlayer instead of windows media player.

I am not able to open any attached file in the incoming mail showing error like documents is damaged. But I can open that in direct mail server please help

If you are unable to open any attached file in your incoming mail and are using Microsoft Office 2007, run registry editor (regedit.exe) and scroll to the following location:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook\Security

Copy the contents of the "OutlookSecureTempFolder" key and paste it in the Windows Explorer to open the OutlookSecureTempFolder. Delete all files in this folder and then run Outlook.

This location can not be browsed to and can only be found from the registry as it is different for all users. e.g. for myself it is as follows:

D:\Users\keekus\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.Outlook\R34DKK8O\

For earlier versions of Microsoft Office, you may find the "OutlookSecureTempFolder" in these locations:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook\Security

or

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\10\Outlook\Security

If you still have this problem and are using Microsoft Office 2007, run registry editor (regedit.exe) and scroll to the following location:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook\Security

Copy the contents of the "OutlookSecureTempFolder" key and paste it in the Windows Explorer to open the OutlookSecureTempFolder. Your file will most probably be here. Microsoft Office Outlook 2003-Can't get in

The Extend.dat file is an information file created by outlook to store some small, usually useless information. It is located in a folder that's usually buried and hidden on most Windows PC's. Try this.
  1. Close Outlook, and all other office related products.
  2. Open your control panel.
  3. Find the entry called mail. You may have to select the classic view on the left to be able to see this icon.
  4. You should now see something like this image:
    aeae8b0.png
  5. Click on data files. You should see something like this:
    35a234d.gif
  6. Now click on open Folder. This will take you to that secret and hidden place on your hard drive that contains you out data files. You should see a files called extend.dat in there. If you do, delete it and reopen outlook. If you don't, then you may have to destroy your outlook profile and recreate it.
Comment back here on if this fixedya, or if I need to help you recreate the profile. If I'm going to help you recreate the profile, you'll need to at a minimum know who your hosting your email through.
