No, oil and butter should not be used in the popcorn maker. You can melt some butter or buy a flavored oil to drizzle on top once the popcorn is done and in a bowl. But nothing should go inside the maker except popcorn kernels.
Put popcorn in bottom up to where the ring in bottom levels off for a maker full or less if you don't want a maker full. Cover with popcorn oil, I use the butter flavor oil. Put some butter inside of lid compartment and put lid back on butter compartment. Now just put lid onto popper and plug in. The light on side will come on and popper will start to heat. You will then hear it start to pop. Popping is finished when light on side goes out. Carefully lift the whole popper and shake right side up and then turn upside down and shake. Remove bottom, add some popcorn salt if you like and enjoy it right out of the lid. Delisious!!
Hey I was searching for the same Popaire 2 info and didn't find anything on websites or youtube... Then I asked my dad. lol He simply said: 1. Fill the top round section with popcorn kernels 2. plug it in 3. then slide open the same round section (where the kernels are) to have the kernels fall in the Popaire 2. It will pop the corn thereafter. 4. (BUTTER chamber thing) The little rectangular scooper-looking thing on the slope of the top is where you can put a chunk of butter that will melt from the hot air and drizzle into the popcorn popper as the popcorn is popping. Hopefully someone will post more, like the Popaire 2 manual. :) Enjoy your popcorn!
(BUTTER chamber thing) The little rectangular scooper-looking thing on the slope of the top is where you can put a chunk of butter that will melt from the hot air and drizzle into the popcorn popper as the popcorn is popping. My dad said you cant use oil in it
but the best way to check how much it holds is fill the butter dish with water and use a cup mesure to find the amount and then experament with the level of finnished that you want. for me a thrid of the butter dish is all that i need
you can open it but not from the top. unscrew the bottom and take out the heater and clean out the Popperwithout using any water or soap just a toothbrush and cloth. it will take more then one clean out to get it to stop smoking (took me 3 times). put it back together place a plate under it to catch butter and run it for 10 min. to get hidden butter to melt and seep out of hidden spaces then repeatcleaning.
The manual says, place butter in cup, hook cup onto the rim of the pan below the "butter cup"marking on the lid, and the butter will melt and drip evenly onto the popcorn as it pops. I haven't tried it; hope it works for you.
The usual way to use a pop corn popper is to:
1st - add oil
2nd - add popcorn
3rd - add any seasoning (if using the pre-packaged "theater" popcorn mix).
DO NOT add butter into the popper, as it will burn quickly and make for some foul tasting pop corn.
You can always add butter and salt to taste AFTER the pop corn is done popping.
single layer of popcorn on bottom of entire maker...no oil is needed but you can use a tablespoon if you like...butter melts through the hokes in lid....Place butter pats over top holes in lid before popping starts if you want butter to drip down on the corn ( it does pop better with a little oil!)
