SOURCE: I have a Envision EN-7100e monitor. Downloaded
catamount309, This is only a guess, but unit may have internal "switch-mode-power-supply"/"CCFL inverter" board problem. When screen goes BLACK, is it also BLANK? If you can see WIN-desktop with aid of bright flashlight 1 inch from screen, then SMPS is in partial shutdown mode. If you see nothing, then SMPS is in full shutdown. In either case, Technician will need to repair the SMPS/CCFL inverter board. If KNOWN GOOD monitor works with PC, then you know 7100e is bad. Do you know and understand how the new energy efficient screw-in curlie-Q light bulbs work? If the "electronic ballast circuit" not working, then it can't light-up the CCFL tubes on the reverse side of LCD panel then you see black. Do more reading in my fixya profile for more options open to you. Do your research first!! Hey, reading is free!!!
Will you fix or trade for new? 12fixlouie

SOURCE: Envision monitor EN-7100e color is screwd up.
Unfortunately this monitor has captived VGA cable, you cannot easily replace it. Try moving the cable around to see if you will get normal color back.
