I was just chatting w/ one of your computer experts, after having paid the fee. My problem is that whatever computer screen I am on will exit of I try to click on a link or forward an e-mail. Well, the fixya expert I was with asked me to click on a websharing link so he could troubleshoot my problem, and when I did, the screen x-ed out and I lost him. I am going to pay again, since I cannot talk to anyone without doing so, but then I will want a refund for the previous payment.

I am not sure this is the right place for this kind of question. the experts do not make that kind of decisions you should try clicking the "contact" link at the bottom of the page.

I asked a question last July 3 about my SUPERIOR cut off saw I have,and the answer I got did NOT fix it.So why did I get charged $11.83 on my mastercard. I would to get a credit on my card ASAP....

How to earn/get money on/from fixya


In order to earn money on FixYa, you must become a Premium Expert. For information on how to apply, please view this Tip.

Once you have been approved as a Premium Expert, you will notice some changes on your My Expertisepage. First, there will be a banner regarding your preferred method of payment. Click on this banner and select how you would like to be paid. There will also be a module on the upper right of your My Expertise page called My Live Chat Status, as well as a link to your Account Statements.

Answering Chats
If you would like to do a Live Chat, where you assist the customer using an IM system, check the "Available" option on your My Live Chat Status module. Then, as long as you are on FixYa, you will receive a pop up to alert you to any available Chats in your Areas of Expertise. Please make sure you have enough time to do a Chat (up to an hour or more) and that you only assist one customer at a time.

Answering Premium Questions
Premiums can be found at the top of your My Expertise page with buttons marked $3, $4, and $6. Please view this Tip to see more info about Premiums.

Keeping track of your earnings

If your Premium Solution or Live Chat Assistance is "Accepted" by the customer, you will be credited the amount on the button (for Premiums) or between $6-$10 (for Live Chats). You can keep track of all the Premiums/Live Chats you have done by clicking on "Account Statements" (also referred to as your Ledger). One note about that- if something older than 7 days is still marked as Pending, then it has Auto Closed and another Expert received credit.

Getting paid
At the end of each month, FixYa audits Experts' accounts. If you have earned $50 or more, your account begins processing. For more info about FixYa's payment policies and schedule, please view the Experts' FAQ section on payments.

Terms of use - is my question/answer free? Or what is "subscription" price for 1 question?


If I were you, I would ask your question here for no fee what so ever. You can ask free qeustions all day if you want. Who ever (as in we volunteers who answer questions) may see your question may give you an answer if the question is within their area of expertise. This question is a free question and this is a free answer.

If you want, you can elect other options. There are Paid questions which have a flat fee for one question. These questions remain at the to of the "list" until answered. If you "subscribe", you can ask Paid questions when ever you want on a recurring basis. In the free section, questions are asked and they go on a long list posted by the time and category.

Another option is "Chat" where you chat with an expert who accepts your question. There is also a feature where which allows you to speak with someone on the telephone.

And ... there is a feature where you can direct your question to a particulat "Expert" of your choosing for a fee.

I hope this answers your question - thank you for asking.

BTW, I am usually here Monday thru Saturday, it is morning where I am located. I spend 30 or so minutes here before going to the regular job. Everyone who works here is a volunteer and works from their home, shop or office when they wish.

There is your free answer in under 10 minutes originating from the US Eastern Seaboard.

You can have a Expert call you for about $30.00 ... you can chat on line for about $20.00, you can ask a question in the paid section for another amount, you can subscribe on a monthly basis and ask lots of questions for another price ... or you can ask free questions such as you have here, for no fee.

This site is powered by volunteer question answering people (just like me) working when they want from our homes offices and shops ... taking the questions we want to answer. If you pay for the service, your question will be directed to a Expert who is currently on line and your question will remain at the top of the listing until it is answered. In the free section, your question may or may not be caught before it falls below the first couple of pages. Some people go looking for specific types of questions, as a rule, I don't.

I have a bunch of dvds recorded on my hitachi camcorder while i was overseas when i came back i left it for them i brung my dvds but did not finalize them and i bought a sony now i can't watch them


I am going to answer all your solutions so that way another expert will not feel as I did when he takes a chance on your chat. Sir/Madam I think you should have not given me a bad rating just because you did not want my solution weather it was cheap or not you can talk to the person http://www.doicamera.com/videotransfer.htm
ask the for a bulk discount or a finalization fee but you did not want to even talk about paying more then your chat fee.. See I can handle most repair on here YES about 99.95 percent but your asking me to beam my self to you and finalize your disk for the same chat fee wow that is not gonna happen.

This is a example of what you just did you asked for a expert chat for advice or a solution knowing fair well its going to be difficult but you went ahead anyway.. you get the experts advice and walk.. Anyway you would like to put it its cheating the expert and company. I know Fixya has a 30 day thing but come on this is just absurd.
