Question about Nikon D60 Digital Camera

4 Answers

I downloaded wallpapers from the Nikon website to my memory card. My problem is I cannot view them on my D60 camera. They are in JPG format but I cannot view them in the camera. I tryed other JPG pictures but the only ones that are viewable are the ones taken with the camera itself. Is there some setting that I'm missing. When I choose the Play All folders those pictures never appear.

I still have the problem. Even after placing edited pictures into existing folders and using existing file names the images will not appear in the camera.

I'm not having a problem transfering pictures from the camera or memory card to the computer. The problem I'm having is transfering wallpaper pictures to the camera. I can transfer all kinds of JPG pictures to and from the memory card and view them on the computer. I just can NOT view a JPG picture on my camera that was not taken by my camera. I can transfer all kinds of JPG pictures to existing file folders or new file folders on the card but if it wasn't taken by my camera that picture will NOT be displayed in the camera.

Please change wallpaper file names in sequence with Nikon camera photo files.
Camera firmware do not detect other file names other then its special generated name or number and you can see file name if you hook camera with PC and click photo folder.

Removing the wallpaper picture from my Nikon D60

To change the Info display format, follow the instructions in the "Info Display Format" section of the manual (page 120 in my copy). If you simply want to change the wallpaper image to one of your own, follow the instructions under "Wallpaper" (page 122 in my copy).

If you need a manual, you may download a copy from here.

How do i delete photos from a nikon d 60 digital camera

To delete individual pictures, press the trashcan button while viewing the picture, then confirm.
To delete all pictures, format the memory card. FixYa is full of people asking how to retrieve pictures from cards that hadn't been formatted recently.
The format command is in the setup menu. Full details are in the "Formatting Memory Cards" section of the manual (page 24 in my copy). If you need a manual, you can download one here.

After taking a picture with my D60 the shot is very slow to come up on the screen.Using smaller files speeds it up a little but it is still slower than my freinds D40x

Unfortunately this isn't anything that can be necessarily fixed per se.

I'd suggest looking at Nikon's website and finding any applicable firmware upgrades. However, upon checking Nikon's website there are no available firmware upgrades currently.

Beyond that, I also recommend formatting your memory card (after transferring your photos to your computer) and possibly looking into purchasing a faster memory card. Memory cards have different write/read speeds which can affect the rate at which your pictures come up onscreen in the camera.

Green light on back of camera is flashing and I cannot view my photos

Green light flashing means that the camera is reading the memory card. If it keeps on flashing and flashing means that the camera is trying to read the card and not able to. This means that there is something wrong with the card. You should stick your card into the computer and transfer all your data from the card on to the computer. after all your photos are safe on your computer, put your card back in to the camera. turn the camera on, press the menu button, navigate to the menu that looks like a wrench and in that menu select "Format Memory Card" this will erase and format the card to how it should be. after that, you should be able to view your photos normally. If that doesn't work your card may be faulty and you may have to purchase another memory card.
Note: the camera might not display photos that you downloaded from you computer on to the card, cameras often only display photos that you took with the camera.

Where can I find a download for D60 raw files? I have taken photographs using the RAW format and now wish to use the raw controls to edit them. How do I find the appropriate download

Nikon have their own free viewer which allows you to convert the files to jpg etc.

If you want a program that can edit D60 Raw files then you could try AbelRawer.

Photoscape has general converter (to Tiff / jpg etc) as well as an editor but I am unsure if it can edit raw files.

All the programs above are freeware.

Adobe photoshop has all the necessary editing power, but is expensive.

Hope that is of help to you.

Sounds like your computer or the software program you're using to download your pics is set to automatically erase the card after the download.

Unable to view photos on camera memory card

Is the camera shooting in RAW mode? If so, the files will not be in JPG format. Perhaps your Nikon download software converts to JPG for you?
I'm a Canon user myself, so forgive me if my terminology is not correct for the Nikon, but the theory is the same...
On my canon I can choose to shoot JPG mode, or RAW+JPG - this is the only way the card can be read directly on a PC.
