There are generally two control boards, I am assuming you looked at the lower one. I would first disconnect the power leads at the board and see if it still blows the circuit breaker (fuse?). If it does the check wiring for short. If OK then reconnect power leads and then disconnect all other wires (plug-ins) to the board and try again, each time plug a connection in and retry. (remember to disconnect power each time). I have a feeling the smoke got let out of this lower board and may need replacement. hope this helps

Have an old pro form 280, works good except for the info reading display. It comes on and I press the reset button, but it does not change. I put new batteries in it still no readouts.

1)exchange new batteries
2) clean the contacts batteries very well.
3) tight any plugs, cables, interconection such ribbon cables, and clean it
4) ADJUST THE REED SWITCH, see the diagram, clean, and tight the plugs very well, and proof.
5) if doesnot work, you problem with the display board vs main board. see the block.

I have no display lights on my 665 E. I don't have a manual as this treadmill is used.

rthorne330-

I may be able to help. So the display does not light up...does the unit otherwise work? Does the belt turn, can you adjust the speed, etc?

The manual is available online at the following link: Link

My Proform 380E has only been used about 5 times since we bought it. I turned it on the other day to actually use it and the belt won't move even though I can hear the motor running and the display shows...

Proform CR610: electronics work (display lights up) and incline works, but motor on belt does not start. any thoughts?

# get a 12-18 volt dc battery fully charged(like one from a cordless drill)
# Make sure it is fully charged, because it won't work if not
# attach the + and - to the motor red is + and black is -
# If the motor turns slightly your motor is ok, if not the motor is bad and would need replaced
# if the motor is ok then your motor controller(the board with the metal) is malfunctioning and would need replaced.

Belt won't move

does is just not move when you're standing on it, or not even move when you're not standing on it. It may be a simple belt adjustment or if the motor is running but there's no track movement you may be looking at a loose/broken drive belt. Take the cover off, start it up and look at the motor/drive pulley assembly. If the motor turns and the front roller doesn't, tension the drive motor by moving it back. If the front roller turns but the track doesnt, do a track adjustment as per your users manual.
