SOURCE: 1984 F150 302 Had oil pan gasket and both valve cover gaskets

If you have oil coming down between the transmission and the engine where they meet your problem is with the rear main seal. It seals the back of the crankshaft so no oil comes out. Over time it tends to leak especially if the oil changes haven't been done on time or you live on dirt roads. Where the transmission and engine meet there should be a metal shield but it may be already removed. Just pry that back and see if there is oil. Depending on the color tells your rear main seal for the engine or the front seal on the transmission. Hope that helps.

SOURCE: We change the oil pan

If it is the 3.0 you may have heard the lifters. but sometime when you leave an oil pan off for very long you will lose your prime from your oil pump and it will take an few sec to get primed. how long did you let it run for. did the the knocking go away

Oil leak from oil filter housing

Your oil filter is too tight, causing the rubber gasket to tork and not seal,I've done it on my 85 nissan 720.Everytime I do a oil change,I have to make sure I don't over tighten filter.Loosen a little bit, wipe all oil up so you will know if it's fixed. You may have to replace filter if gasket is messed up from overtightening.

Oil is mixing with water but does not have a head gasket problem any ideas please

I don't mean to sound sceptical, but how have you concluded there is not any head gasket problem? Do you mean a compression test is good? Because that will not show up any leak between the water jacket and the oil passages, via the head gasket joint. Only a pinhole leak is needed because water is, well, watery.
Has a radiator leak down test been done? This will show up water jacket leaks (there may be more than one), and give you some idea of the size.

http://www.benplace.com/pressure_test.htm

I don't know your engine well, but I cannot think of another ready way for water to get in the oil or v-v, except a cracked block, which is rare. I have read of a leaky intake manifold gasket causing it, but I can't picture that one myself.

My 2004 Armada is leaking oil right above the oil filter, at a joint where there's a pressed steel piece. No, I'm not using the wrong filter, and, no, I don't have two (or "no")...

I had the same problem. I took my vehicle to the mechanic. My armada doesn't leak any more. Change the oil filter housing gasket. It cost me $10 for gasket and $45 for labor.

1991 toyota pickup, overheating problem, there is water that I know getting into the oil. I just bought a new head and gasket plus the timing cover gasket as well. ran it today and still blowing water in...

Coolant or water in the oil can be from a head gasket leak, but it can also be an intake manifold gasket or a crack in the block or head etc. I would begin by removing the spark-plugs and then pressurizing the cooling system and checking each cylinder for signs of coolant entering them. If the cylinders stay dry and coolant goes into the oil during the test you most likely have an intake gasket that's leaking. Don't run thee engine with coolant in the oil or you'll have catastrophic damage!

Oil leaking into coolant -- not head gasket

That vehicle has the transmission cooler built into the radiator. You may not be leaking oil into the coolant, but transmission fluid, they both make the same mess. Replacing the radiator will probably fix your problem. Let me know if this helped.
