Question about Cuisinart EM-200 Espresso Machine

Problem Water Flow in the Cusinart EM-100 Model

Water is flowing through the hole close to the removable drip tray when the large function knob is in the off position and the power button is on. I have not been able to stop water flowing through that hole even with the large knob in the off position. How can I solver this problem?

I might have answered this one already, but:
Confirm one more time that the knob is lined up with the "o" in the middle - if it is leaning even slightly toward the coffee cup icon or the water/steam icon, water may come forth.

If the knob is perfectly in the middle, then the calibration is probably off (although I can think of one other possibility). Rather than deal with an expensive and warranty-voiding repair, I would just call Cuisinart - that unit has a three-year warranty, and I believe every single one of the EM-100's was introduced less than three years ago. Just write down the serial number that is on the bottom of the espresso maker, and call up Cuisinart - no receipt will be required as the serial number will almost invariably be enough in this case. If you live outside of California, you will have to pay for shipping - probably about $25 all together. But you will be getting a brand-new unit in return.

My cva 4066 will not make coffee, I descalled it, that function worked fine,all it does is make the grounds a little wet and the rest of the water goes in the drip tray. Can you help me?


Have you Cleaned the Brew unit? The descale Tablets are to clean and descale the internal plumbing - the cleaning tablets are to remove the oils from the brew unit. If clogged the water will not flow through , instead it will dump into the drip tray.

Bosch tassimo T65 - water draining in to drip tray possible cause and resolution


I had a problem on my Tassimo T65 where water was entering the bottom drip tray through the small hole at the rear. It seems many people have this problem but after researching on line there is little help although I found on this sit how to take the coffee maker apart and from that thread the possible cause for my own issue.
So if your machine seems to be leaking from the small drain hole to the rear of the drip tray try this before you think it is either in need of specialist repair by Bosch at a cost almost the same as a new machine or before you start to take it apart and have a look yourself.
CAUSE - The water is coming from the drain hole because the pressure valve at the top of the machine is blocked with calcium deposits through prolonged use without descaling sufficiently.
SOLUTION - Purchase a good quality coffee machine descaler. Sit the whole coffee machine in a tray or large oven tray so you can collect the overflowing descaler throughout the process, it's not economical to waste this solution. Remember to clean down and dry the coffee maker each time.
Use at least half strength descaler do not water it down more than 1:1
Follow the descaling process by inserting the yellow disc and holding the start button down for 3 seconds.
Repeat this process several times, recovering the fluid leaking in to the tray and cup or container. If you start to see small lumps being dispelled in to the cup try to remove these for further descaling.
After several cycles you should notice that the leaking or flow of water from the bottom drain hole becomes less until it stops. To force the dissolving scale out of the pressure valve try running the normal clean cycle but with the descaling solution, the flow is longer and will help flush the restriction.
After a number of descaling and clean cycles the leak or flow from the drain hole will have stopped, if not continue till it does.
Note: I ran cycles for about 2 hours with periods of rest to allow the solution to do its work.
Now the leak or flow has stopped clean out the reservoir and replace with clean water and run at least 4 clean and rinse cycles.

Sounds like you need to prime the water pump. Remove the filter holder, open the steam knob and then press the coffee delivery switch. Wait for water to flow consistently from the steamer and then close the steam knob. Water should then be forced to flow through the goup head (coffee head). If you cannot get water to flow from steamer then the pump may have already been damaged or it may have been faulty from the start. If water will flow through steamer but not for the coffee, then the group head is blocked. Good luck hope this helps and remember that all machines should be primed like this before use.

Coffee doesnt flow but water gathers in the drip pan instead.


Hi Your problem is probably the boiler leaking. Its located just above the drip tray in the center of the machine. When it starts leaking it goes into the drip tray or on the counter top. If you can remove the top, you can see if the boiler is leaking. There will be a white line between the 2 halves of the boiler.

HI First make sure everything is in and locked (brew unit, drip tray, and dredge drawer). Open the knob on the right and flow water through the wand. Now turn the knob in the bean hopper to 16 and push the brew button. If that didn't work you might have a clog in the grinder, and will need to clean it.

Descaling


(Button 26 is the right-most one (2 intersecting
ovals.)
From the Manual:
Press the button (26) for at least 5 seconds to
select the descaling operating mode; the LED
emits a fixed light.
• Direct the steam nozzle (14) toward the drip
tray.
• Position a vessel of adequate capacity under
the steam nozzle and turn the hot water knob
anticlockwise (16). The appliance starts an
automatic descaling cycle with pauses preset
by the manufacturer and managed
automatically by the appliance.
• At the end of the cycle, the flow of the
descaling solution is shut off and the 5 buttons
start flashing simultaneously.
• Turn the knob of the hot water nozzle (16)
clockwise to OFF. In this case, also the warning
light (27) flashes.
• Rinse the water tank and fill it with fresh
drinking water.
• Position a vessel of adequate capacity under
the steam nozzle and empty 2/3 of the
contents of the water tank by turning the steam
knob (16) anticlockwise; to shut off the flow,
turn the knob (16) clockwise.
• Let the appliance heat up and empty the
remaining contents of the water tank by turning
the steam knob (16) anticlockwise; to stop the
flow, turn it clockwise.

Water Leaking and not coming out from the nozzel


Thank you thank you!!! This problem has been irking us for months! The people in our company adore the coffee the Saeco Incanto Sirius makes so we just lived with the leak. The fix was such a simple thing, heh.

I used a cable tie to clean out the hole. The hole is very small - a design mistake, I'd say - and when I unclogged it I could see the cable tie coming out and coffee sludge flowing into the drip tray.

Significant leak into drip tray when brewing and using steam/hot water


run a 50/50 mixture of white vinegar and water thru your system.may have to run it twice,should clear it up if its a mineral clog. be sure to run a few cycles of clean water afterwards to clear the system
