Question about Cameras

6 Answers

I have Bonica 5.0 Mega Pixel Digital Camera (the one that has the waterproof glove, and fits inside the Snapper XP underwater case). Problem: I have been unable to find any SD memory card compatible with this camera. Have tried PNY 4 GB--no good. Tried PNY 2GB--no good. Trying PNY 1 GB.. and it just keeps "formating". While on vacation last fall, a friend let me try some other brand of SD card, 1GB..no good. I am very disappointed and need to know how to get a memory card to work with this thing. the instruction manual is crappy and doesn't mention anything. HELP! Please. Thanks

the instructions (specifications) for the camera state that any 2 GB or below is acceptable. This is in the specifications for the camera. I am pretty steamed at the money I have spent on cards and none work. Can someone absolutely (with first hand bonica experience) verify that only 512 will work?

Try formatting the card inside the camera, that should work.

If after formatting from camera menu the camera still does not read the card, then test the camera with a different SD card, a defective card can still be read on the card reader but not on camera.

If the camera has problem with different SD cards, and not only this one, then only in that case you call Olimpus, otherwise the problem is the card or the card formatting.

This is a common problem unfortunately. being that you have owned the camera for this long, returning is out of the question.. Have you tried formatting the cards on a card reader and then seeing if they work in the camera? Do you have an issue with using 512 mb cards? Most likely the camera is out of warranty as well so repair would just cost more money and may still not solve your problem. If you still need assistance let me know. Also please take a moment to rate my solution accordingly.
Thank you,
Lee

Hi!

Please give the model no. of the camera so that i can help you. Try formatting the card first using a memory card reader.

Since it is 5.0 Mega Pixel Camera and its hardware can not support more then 512 MB memory card.
Thats why it gives you error on 1GB and other g memory cards.

I would like a waterproof case for my canon powershot a460 which can go down to around 20mtrs, can you suggest one or two makes or models which would fit my camera. thnx

Wouldn't it be nice if underwater case manufacturers would make a case for virtually every model of camera ever produced and will be produced? They would only have to make literally millions of different cases for each type of camera since each camera is different. Of course, this would mean the factory would be so huge to churn out all these different cases that we would only have half of the planet left for human habitation! I'm sort of joking of course, but you can see that if a case is made for a camera, it would have to be for a high-end camera that would sell very well and people would want to take it underwater. It would be very expensive and would only work for that particular camera. Canon does make underwater cases for about 8 of their models and the cases cost on average $170. Your model is not one of them.

I have this camera, and there is a theme for it that says "Underwater" is this camera able to go underwater? The lense looks as if.

No, it is not water proof camera so unable to shoot underwater without water proof casing that is another product. Camera must be packed in water proof casing to take pictures underwater.
Click Sony Support link to download optional accessories brochure rleated to DSC-T700 and check AKP-THA water proof casing for this model.
Thanks.

I have Bonica underwater video camera and its great but have damaged the screw threads on the front where the wide angle lens screws on. Where can I but replacement ring?

Any way to get a threader and rethread them to take a larger screw ? You can buy them at a decent hardware store. If it's broken already, a $4 item is worth a try.

What is the number of recorded pixels on the DiMAGE 7i?

The DiMAGE 7i has four different image size settings; Full 2560x1920, UXGA 1600x1200, XGA 1280x960 and VGA 640-480. The recorded pixel size in each mode is almost equivalent to an image captured with a 5 mega pixel, a 2 mega-pixel, 1.3 mega-pixel, 0.35 mega-pixel DSC respectively.
