go to contacts..then to tabs on settings ..there should be setting allowing you to move sim contacts to phone. Just make sure your phone has enough space to hold data from sim. seems you are missing some details... new phone? differnt size sim? etc?
Unfortunately, the iPhone does not work with contacts saved on your SIM. You need to use the Pam Desktop to move your old contacts to your PC. Then, use iTunes to sync back your Windows Contacts with your new iPhone. If you don't want to use iTunes, you can use a more direct way to copy iPhone contacts directly to the iPhone.
Use the option of copying the contacts from the phone to the SIM by opening the Menu - contacts-move contacts. Now save to SIM and then load the SIM to the new phone - move it back again to the phone. repeat the process till all the contacts are moved.
This can not be done because both networks use different technology. One is GSM the other is CDMA. Frequency to transmit radio signals are entirely different.
Red key (to make sure you're on the home screen) Left key (menu) 3 (Address book) 5 (Copy All Contacts) 2 (Handset to SmartChip) 1 to Keep original, 2 to Delete original (I'd keep it, just in case this doesn't work) (Beep) 1 (Yes to confirmation) Wait for another beep Done.
Based on the following bolded statement from http://www.htc.com/ca/faqs.aspx?p_id=269&cat=78&id=99764 , I'm not sure you can do that with stock software...
Q.
How do I copy Contacts from my SIM to my phone? To copy contact entries between the device memory and the SIM card, follow these steps: Note: Only copying from the SIM card to the device is supported.
From the Home screen, tap the Contacts icon.
Press Menu and select Import Contacts.
Perform one of the following:
Move one at a time: Press and hold on and select Import from the pop up Menu.
Move all:
Press the Menu key.
Tap Import all. If you want to get the contacts off your phone, what I suggest is to synch your contacts with your Gmail account, and export from there to a .csv or .ical file.
Another way to do it is to go to the marketplace
and download the "contact exporter" app, then export contacts as a .csv file. then
you can log into Gmail and import all those contacts from the same .csv
file. this will automatically sync over the air with your another Android phone. Very easy.
Via PC Studio you can transfer your phone contacts to your PC.
When your phone is connected to your PC you can view the file using Windows Explorer. Select them and copy them to your PC.
