If you're just pulling the ethernet cable off of the back of your computer, it won't work. You'll need a router connected to your network first, and then connect the 360 to the router with a second ethernet cable after setting up the router.

step by step.

1. connect the ethernet from the modem to the router.

2. connect the small ethernet that came with the router to the PC.

3. insert the cd that came with the router and follow the setup.

4. plug the 360 into the router with an ethernet cable into an empty port.

5. enjoy.

If you have a router already, you may just want to check the ethernet cable for any breaks. easy way of telling if it's the cable is to simply use a different cable, or use the cable for a different device, like your computer. change the cable out with a good one and see if you can still get online. If so, then your cable's not the issue.

If you have a router, good cables, and it's still not working, you may need to have the 360 looked at by a licensed repair service, because the ethernet jack on your 360 may have went out. This is rare, but it's possible.

Can't get my wi-fi connection to work on it

Here's How:
  1. Turn on the Nintendo DSi
  2. Click on the wrench icon to access "System Settings."
  3. Select "Internet" on the third page of System Settings.
  4. Select "Connection Settings" and tap the "None" bar in "Connection 1."
  5. You have the option of setting up a connection manually, or searching for available connections in the area. You may also access your Nintendo Wi-Fi USB connector, if you have one (the product has been discontinued). The easiest thing to do is select "Search for an Access Point."
  6. Your Nintendo DSi will list the names of any wireless access points in range. A gold, unlocked icon next to the connection's name signifies an unlocked WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) connection that can be accessed immediately. A locked gold icon signifies an encrypted WEP connection that requires a WEP key (password).
  7. If you are accessing a locked/encrypted connection, enter your WEP key. You may also click "Change Security Settings" to enter a WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access) key.
  8. If your WEP key is correct, your Nintendo DSi should connect. You can test your connection to verify.
  9. You're set! Now you can surf the Internet, purchase games and add-ons in the Nintendo DSi Shop, and play games that allow wireless access and competition (with WEP connections, only).

How to get internet

this comes directly from nintendos website:
Turn on your Nintendo DSi and access the System Settings by clicking on the wrench icon.
Scroll over to the third page, and select "Internet."
Now choose "Connection Settings."
Click on "None" for "Connection 1." (Don't see "None" for Connection 1? To ensure any existing settings don't interfere with getting connected, tap the button, then choose "Clear Settings.")
Click on "Search for an Access Point." The Nintendo DSi will search for any wireless networks within range. Once it is finished searching, it will display the names of all the wireless networks it finds.Look for your wireless network.

unlocked_select.png if this pops up beside a connection point, it means that it is has no security measures. u can freely connect to it..

Select "OK," "Save Settings," and then "Yes."

  • Once the Nintendo DSi runs the connection test, you should see the following screen:
test_success.png As long as you see "Connection test successful," the support code does not matter and can be ignored.

I have xbox live gold menbership. i disconeted from the router . now when i connect it.. it wunt let me sing in... why and how do i fix this porblem... i put my ip adress and all n it only work wen it want...

First verify that your internet connection is working (login from a computer on your network)

Then try logging in with your XBOX ID and password at xbox.com - this will make sure you have the correct username and password.

Run the xbox live connection test from your xbox 360 console. If the connection fails before the step that says "Internet Connectivity", you have a problem with the XBOX's connection to your network and you will need to re-check your settings.

If it says you have a valid internet connection, you may want to re-enter your ID and password as you did on the Xbox.com page to make sure you are using the correct ID and Password.

If all that fails, you will probably want to call microsoft to make sure your account is set up properly.

Hope this helps

How do you hook up the internet

Prerequisites:
  • A Nintendo DSi or Nintendo DSi XL
  • A broadband internet connection in your home, such as cable or ADSL
  • A wireless router / access point
  • You can also use a free public WiFi connection such as those found in McDonalds restaurants
Step by step instructions:
  1. Switch on your Nintendo DSi / DSi XL
  2. Click on the spanner icon to access - System Settings
  3. Select - Internet, on the 3rd page of - System Settings.
  4. Select - Connection Settings and tap the - None bar in - Connection 1
  5. You have 2 options here, you can setup a connecion manually or you can scan for available connections. The easiest option is to scan for an access point, select - Search for an Access Point
  6. The DSi / DSi XL will list the names of any access points that are in range. A yellow unlocked icon next to the connection name denotes an unlocked WEP connection. A locked yellow icon denotes an encrypted WEP connection that requires a WEP key or password to be entered
  7. If you are accessing an encrypted WEP connection, enter your WEP key now
  8. If the WEP key is correct, you should now be connected. Test your connection to verify this

I want internet

In order to get internet on your DSi first you must have a wireless internet connection in your house. Then you must go to the system settings and then go to the wireless communications tab and make sure wireless communications are turned on. Next go to the internet tab and click on connection settings. From there you click on the button that says connection 1 and it will search for wireless internet signals. Click on your wireless signal and then the DSi will test the connection. If it succeeds then you are all set. If not look up the error code and send in another question. Thanks for using FixYa!
