Is this a heat pump? if so its possible its not charged properly, if youre running on your strips , maybe one of youre sequencers is malfunctioning.. heat pumps arent able to pull enough heat into the house below a certain temperature, then you have to switch over to emergency heat. reply

The heat doesn't get hot while, i'm warming the van but when i started driving the get hot what's warm.

First checkup the coolant level in the radiator before you start the engine cold. Top off as necessary. If it's rally low you may need to "burp" the air from the cooling system.

When the radiator is full start the vehicle and watch the temp gauge. Once the gauge reaches the midpoint you should have plenty of heat. If there is still less than adequate heat raise the rpm slightly. If a lot of heat starts to come from the vents with the added RPMs than one of two things has happened.

1. The coolant level is still to low. The added rpm is enough to push coolant up to the heater core but low RPMs cause a loss of coolant flow and thus less heat.

2. The heater core is starting to plug up due to dirty old neglected coolant. The extra RPMs cause more flow which leads to more heat.

Chigo does not make enough heat to warm up the 25 cubic meter (882 cubic feet) room, i have a 9000BTU chigo and i use on heat mode 30+ , when i start the compressor starts right away but the indoor unit...

On heat mode, the indoor unit wont start until it gets hot. The outside compressor unit will be running while this is happening. If the unit worked OK before it was relocated, and now its not, I would suggest that it has a gas leak. You may need to get the Tech back to check this..

SOLEUS KFHHP-22 - Heater doesn't blow air at all, warm or cold. Cooling works great but no heat.

Doesn't matter how hot it was when installed, there still should have been proper start up performed. That means running unit thru all cycles and checking charge. If it was installed this summer then installer should warranty service to return and complete install properly.

Ruud achiever 10 froze up but the fan works but not getting cool air flow through house. what is causing this?

The most common things that will cause a system to freeze up are:
1. Dirty air filters
2. Dirty evaporator coil
3. Indoor fan motor not running
4. Blocked/restricted return air flow
5. Low on refrigerant charge ( most common)

I would start with the filters. When the system is froze up, turn off the "cool" and just have the fan set to on. Make sure there is no more ice anywhere, turn the system back on and check your air flow throughout the house. If it feels normal, then filters, return, and fan should be good. The outside unit will have warm to hot air coming out of the fan if the charge is good enough, but that's not a perfect way to check, you will need gauges and a temp reader with knowledge of super-heat and sub-cooling to check the charge the right way. Hope this helps and good luck!

I have Rinnai R53 tankless water heater which is about 5 year old. recently it has problem to keep water consistant warm. when I take shower , I feel water change from hot to cold antomatically. what is...

You are probably running a low flow shower head and have not had any maint. done on the unit. When the water flow is low and the unit is dirty it can't exchange enough heat to the water and this causes the heat exchanger to gradually increase in temp. The unit then shuts down to allow the heater to cool. This is an automatic reset high limit switch that will turn the burners back on automatically. This problem can be exasperated by 1/2 inch trunk lines. Call a hvac tech in your area to come and clean the unit. He should also be able to increase the draft inducer fan motor speed to allow more cooling of the heat exchanger.

Rinnai infinity standing in the shower and it suddenly goes cold for a few seconds no other water been run in the house or it goes cold and goes to a trickle then comes on again. Could the heat ex changer...

We are a bit confused by the device that you are using to heat the Hot water with- Is it an instantaneous HW heater?--
They are pressure sensitive-- Could it be, that your water pressure drops momentarily, (which causes the instantaneous heater to shut down its flame-- and you get a pulse of Cold water.)

If your hot water is a tank-- It is possible that something is cycling your hot water away-- like rinse pulses on the Washing machine)-- or your dishwasher?

Tell us more about the Rinnal Air Conditioners and what they have to do with Hot water and your SHower?

What's the difference between EM HEAT and AUX HEAT?

Sorry, neither of these answers are completely correct.
You have a heat pump (or the wrong thermostat). Let's assume you have a heat pump.

In air conditioning mode, it works like every air conditioner you have ever had, but...

In heat mode, it reverses its operation. Have you ever felt the air coming out of the outdoor unit of your A/C unit? It's hot, isn't it. And the air coming out of the indoor unit (out of the registers) is cold. Now for a heat pump to produce heat it simply runs the air conditioner in reverse and the heat comes out in the house and the cold is released outside. Neat, huh!

Here's the problem with heat pumps...when it is really cold outside the heat pump can't produce enough heat to heat your home. So it has an additional heat source called "Auxiliary Heat". This heat comes on automatically when the house doesn't get warm enough. The source of this heat is based on the region of the country you are in. North/Northeast generally have oil heat, other regions have gas, and still others have to use electricity to heat. In Texas, we usually use electricity as the supplementary heat on heat pumps. VERY EXPENSIVE!

Now the "Emergency Heat"...this is exactly as stated in Solution #2. This is manually turned on by YOU at the thermostat when your heat pump fails. This turns on the auxilliary heaters and turns off the heat pump (remember, the reverse air conditioner). Again, this can be quite expensive to run if your heat source uses electricity! Gas and oil may be cheaper. The emergency heat is only designed (normally) to keep the house livable (not comfortable) until the Heating Tech can get out to you and fix your heat pump.

Something else you should know. It is normal for a heat pump's outdoor coil to frost up during heating mode. It will detect this and go into DEFROST mode and melt the frost off the coil. While it is doing this, it will turn on the auxilliary heater to keep the air blowing in the house at a reasonable "warm" temperature, but it will not be as hot as normal. In fact, heat pumps produce a lower temperature heat than traditional heaters. So the air may feel cooler during heating than you are use to anyway. This is normal and is not a sign of a problem.

So what do you do: Set your thermostat to the temperature you want and set the controls for HEAT/COOL and FAN-AUTO/ON and leave the EMERG HEAT off unless your heat pump breaks.

As always, keep your filters clean and your outdoor unit's coils clean and free of debris.

Hope this explains your question for you!
