Timer is loose, stopped working; basket filled with water, then stops.

Wife started a load, once water had filled up, couldn't get the thing to start - on any cycle. Timer front and plate are loose & not aligned.

Try checking if the tube that drains the water is not clogged with something such as a small sock.

SOURCE: LTE6234 Whirlpool Twin Thin Timer Broken?

The problem I have with my Whirlpool ThinTwin is that when I pull the washer knob the water does not start filling even though there is water in the apartment unit. The dryer works so i know there is power and not a circuit breaker issue as I have checked that as well.

When I turn the knob and pull in any position nothing happens. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

SOURCE: Kitchenaid KAWS750JQ3 Top Load Washer

hi there,

make sure that the program is not on the "Intermittent Agitate Program". that would be the cause of the delay.

the other issue would be the timer itself. the timer is mechanical, so once the contact on it is corroded, it will only function intermitently or not at all.

please let me know if i can be of more help.

thanks

SOURCE: Frigidaire (LTF2940E) Washer starts, stops, starts, stops...

The cycle doesn't advance When the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem:

  • It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer.

  • It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. See There's no cold water.

Kenmore washing machine will not stop filling

There is a water level sensor in the tube and it might be plugged. IT could also be the load selector or the control module.

Frigidaire front load washer will start and after about 2 seconds will stop. Lights will go from normal working to no spin

From what you have described I would have a professional diagnose the unit's timer and main control board for possible replacement of those parts.

Washer will not stop filling up with water and won't agitate

Is the standpipe for the drainhose at least the height of the basket or control panel?

When the water has reached it's proper level, the hot water turns off, but the cold water keeps filling until the water overflows the basket

Try this. With the wash tub empty, start to fill with water. Without turning washer off, unplug the washer from wall.

If water filling stops (hot and cold), then you are looking at a bad timer assembly. Replacement isn't that hard, parts can be difficult to find though.

If water continues to fill, your valve body / solenoid assembly is likely full of lime-scale. Easily replaced.

Machine fills up with water then when its suppose to agitate it just stops working will turn timer & push knob in & out & reset then it will work

How long do you let it sit after the water fills up, somtimes the timer will take a little extra time to get to the point that starts the agitation cycle.
When it dose this, without pulling the knob out, turn the disk on the timer clockwise 1 click and see if it starts up agitating, if it dose dont worry about it it is normal

We just purchased a top load Kenmore 800 washer machine. We have washed 2 loads of clothes and Now it has stopped filling up with water. It will not do it to wash or to rinse. We have gone thru the mannual...

The first thing seems to be the timer,or the water level switch. Try filling the washer with water by hand, if it starts to agitate after being filled its the timer, if not it is the water level switch, let me know if you need further assistance.

Kenmore Washing stops at spin cycle.

It sounds like your lidswitch. If it spins after you open and shut the lid, you must be jarring the lidswitch. This is a safety so kids can't open the machine while it is spinning fast. Just replace the lidswitch.
