Question about Yamaha RX-V663 Receiver
Own a sony bdp-s301. Updated the bit stream to 4.50. When I play a blu-ray with Dolby TrueHD audio, my avr does not recognize the the audio. Dobly Digtial is the only audio it picks up. I have 7 speakers and a subwoofer. All my settings on my reciver are set to auto. I also have the Bi-Amp set to on. If I turn the bi-amp off the SBL/SBR speakers do not work for tv viewing or blu-ray viewing. Are there certain settings on the reciver I need to change? It is actually a 7.2 channel reciver.
If your Blu-Ray player has TrueHD or DTS-MA decoding, then it will send a already-decoded audio signal to your receiver. The receiver should then just recognize this as "Straight" decoding, because it isn't actually doing any decoding.
Hope this helps.
