Question about Gateway M675 Notebook
Switching out my hard drive on my Gateway M675.
Specifications for the Gateway are:
Supports up to Ultra DMA 100 and up to PIO Mode 4
I found one, a 500GB, but it uses SATA, and I am having difficulty wanting to go through Gateway.
What you're looking for is an IDE PATA (UDMA/100) drive, you can however use a SATA to IDE adapter if you want to use the SATA drive. Most likely you'll have to get a power adapter cord for the SATA drive also as your machine's power supply probably doesn't have one. You're going to be better off just using an IDE drive.
Here's a link to ebay auctions for these types of hard drives.
Note: The auctions I've linked to are not mine they are for illustrative purposes only.
