Question about Westell Wirespeed ProLine 6100 Router (C9961001100)

Disabling the firewall?

I'm trying to disable the firewalls on my computer for downloading music. My computer has a firewall via Norton 360, which I have configured to "allow" for my music downloading program, but according to the downloading program my firewall is still on. I get this message even when I turn the firewall completely off for the entire computer.

I understand that as this modem (westell 6100f) also functions as a router, it has its own built-in firewall. How do I disable the router's firewall?

You have to know the required ports for music downloading in order for you to configure on your router.

There are some flash games i cant play. my flash play is up to date but i was told it could be my fire wall how do i fix it???

If these games are online in-browser games DO NOT DISABLE YOUR FIREWALL!!! Browser games do not need you to disable your firewall. Disabling your firewall is like putting out a welcome mat for hackers and spyware. Are you sure you've updated to the latest flash player. Go to the Adobe website and check if your version is the same as the latest available download. Version 10.2 is available at the moment.

Evil islands, i cant connect online with my friend. it keeps saying coonection probs. i can see his game just cant not connect

This is usually caused by improper firewall configuration on one end or the other. Both you and your friend should check to make sure your router's firewalls are configured to allow you to connect. The next place to check would be in any software firewalls you may have such as Norton, or even windows firewall and try disabling them and trying again.

How to fix error code 646 microsoft windows vista home premium software

* The solution, in a nutshell, is to disable your firewall. If you’re using McAfee Personal Firewall Plus, F-Secure Internet Security, Norton Internet Security or another Firewall vendor, see its respective support page for assistance in disabling it (temporarily). If you’re using the built-in Vista Firewall, keep reading.

* Open the Control Panel and select Security.

* Select Turn Windows Firewall on or off.

* Select Off (not recommended), click Apply and then OK.

* Back at the Windows Update screen, click the Try again button.

* The download(s) and installation should start…

* and this time successfully install. If a restart is required, make sure to re-enable your Firewall once your PC restarts.

* Though this solution will work for most Vista Update errors

I keep losing my ability to print from my vista PC. Vista pc has Pcillin software for security. Main computer is XP pro running with Norton. I know it's settings but I can't seem to find the combo I need...

So the printer is plugged in to the XP machine? If so then that's where we need to start. If the Vista machine can't find the printer then it's usually a permission or firewall problem. Easiest thing to start with is disabling the firewall in Norton then try and find the printer. If it pops up then we need to turn back on the firewall and configure it properly.

I would recommend disabling the Norton firewall portion of the software, keep it's antivirus side if you wish, and use Windows Firewall for best compatibility.

Norton 360 Download

But first you can try going to internet explorer==tools--internet options and there go to security and privacy and in those 2 options you will find you can disable popup blocker, accept alll cookies, turn security level to low or zero and press apply==ok to lower all security which stops the download.

Having done that, when you click the download button keep the Ctrl key pressed down

Thats the 1st thing to try

If that does not work, May be you have a firewall blocking, you may need to disable windows
firewall, or the existing anti-virus's firewall

Try uninstalling or disabling existing anti virus software
then try to download keeping Ctrl key pressed as you click the download button

If that does not work-it probably will-

Go to "contact us" on the page where you downloaded after purchase, and send message stating
your payment transaction ID, product key, and the exact error you are getting, they will repair it. They do store your product key online, ask them

I hope that was of some help. Get back to me if you have any more questions
