Hi....

if you go to the FCC website and look up the FRS/GMRS info you will find a listing to links that can show you the frequiences for the two radio services...or you can look up Midland model GXT900/950 /series radios and in their specifications gives a frequency chart. the link is WWW.midlandradio.com

SOURCE: how to add frequencies/channels to ICOM IC-F21

Sorry, but your radio is limited to 16 channels in the 400-430 and 440-470 MHz ranges. The number of channels cannot be expanded, nor can the frequency coverage.

Won't Receive, is there a setting I acidently activated?

You want to make sure you radios are on the same channel (big number on the display) and your Interference eliminator code (small number on the display) are the same. Also, make sure when testing that your QT is turned off.

We can not get out 2 way radios to communicate with each other. We have checked to see that all settings are the same and we still cant figure it out.

I am sure you the radio's both set on the same channel. But what about the sub-channels? Are those the same? On the screen, the large number is your channel. The smaller number below it is the sub-channel. They should match. If you've already done this and the radios still will not communicate with each other, then find someone locally (that is fluent on radios) to look them.
Otherwise, return them.
Not sure this helps you short of having more information. Please let me know.
Good luck.

How do i unlock my two way so i can scan and pick channels

The scan function on an XTN is not to be a scanner, but to scan between channels you have programmed into the radio. The scan feature is only available on the 2600 series. You can manually go to each channel and look for or listen for channel activity. Start with channel 1, when someone else is talking, there is a "busy" indication on the LCD on the radio. You can listen in by pressing the Monitor button. If you are using the factory defaults, you may hear someone without pressing the Monitor button.

I inherited a uniden bearcat BC147xlt! How do I

I was unable to locate a manual, but this is a basic 16-channel scanner, and the frequency coverage is probably listed on the ID plate. To program, turn the scanner ON and use the MANUAL button to stop scanning and to advance the scanner to the channel that you want to program. Enter the frequency that you want to program, including the decimal, then push the E (Enter) key. Use the MANUAL key to advance to the next channel, and program as above.

My t5710 will not stay on a channel.

Your radio is in scan mode. Check to see your scan button is not stuck down in some way. Also, check your owners manual for the directions to shut of the scan feature. Unfortunately, what settings you radio has active when you shut it off, it will remember when you turn back on. If you do not have your user guide you can find one here: http://www.giantintl.com/RadioPDFs/Outdated%20Manuals/T56XX_57XX_User_Manual_E.pdf Pages 22-23

Motorola Radio CP-040

Hello jeebe,

On Motorola professional radios the double beep is usually an indication that the channel you are trying to use isn't actually active in the radio. These radios have to be professionally programmed by a two-way radio dealer using special software and cables. If the radio hasn't been programmed, or if one or more channels did not have a frequency assigned to them, then the radio would behave as you describe.

I’d recommend trying to use a different channel. If you are encountering the same problem on all the channels then it’s possible that the radio either wasn’t properly programmed or may have a hardware issue that would require service.

Best Regards,
Ken

Constant tone on an HT1000

You will get a constant tone on any channel that isn't programmed. it sounds like the previous user ha a freq programmed on channel 1. Channel 11 is strange, but possible. Usually guys program these radios in order.... they don't put 2 freqs in soo far apart from each other..... I would expect channel 1 AND 2 to have freq programmed in them.... but channel 1 an channel 11 is strange... but possible. Anytime you don't fill up all the channels on these radios (commercial radios in general) you will get a constant tone on the channels that don't have anything programmed in them. Program the radio and your good to go. If you don't program freqs into al the available channels, expect to hear that "constant tone" on any unprogrammed channels. The channels that you hear a tone on do not have a freq programmed into it. Its normal. Good luck
