Re: surround will not work on proscan 26" flatscreen
This television has only one audio output. IT is a coax digital output listed as N on the back of the television. You will have to get a adaptor to use it with you portable surround sound. You Should be able to find one online. just google the type you need to the coax, and it should bring up places that sell them. If you cannot find one you can go to the PROSCAN website and use the customer support section to get help from them. You can also call them at 1-888-977-6722. It might be best to call them to make sure you get the correct adaptor for you use. I hope this helps you with your problem.

Without a model number or picture I cannot tell you what you have available. That being said, you should have an audio left and right which will be RCA type connections. The other audio, not commonly used by home owners yet is the digital audio out. Either will work just fine.
Absolutely! To provide a better solution to your problem, however, you will need to provide model numbers of your TV and surround sound system. Depending on the available hookups and your hardware, you may need a received to make everything compatible.
You need to give a lot more detail about you set-up. What type of surround sound Brand name and model number are you using. What type of connections are you using with the coaxial sound output to the surround sound system.Have you tested this coaxial output on another speaker source to make sure that it is not putting out sound. You can do this with a coaxial to rca adapter and use one of the receivers normal sound inputs to see if you are getting any sound from the output of the television. You also must make sure you are using the remote controls of the two components correctly. Check to make sure the volume is adjusted to a hearing level on both remotes.Check all the cables you are using and make sure they are working correctly. If after doing the testing you find that the television is not putting out sound. You will need to contact PROSCAN for customer support help. You can use their website at www.oncorpus.com. Go to the customer support section and ask for help with your problem. You can also call them at 1-888-977-6722. I hope this has helped you with your problem.
The red white and yellow cables are composite connections. The red/green/blue connections are component connections.
The playstation's composite connections consist of two audio connections- red & white, and a composite yellow video connection. The TV's white connection is the audio, and the red/green/blue are component video. You need an adapter that will connect the one yellow(composite video) to the three red/green/blue (component video) connections
