Question about Odyssey Drive 4-Wheel Scooter - Color Blue

1 Answer

Odyssey 4-wheel electric scooter - The following has happened twice in a 6 month period near the same geographic neighborhood location. While driving the scooter, which is fully charged and operating normally, suddenly the electrical systems stops functioning and the scooter goes dead (no power, indicator lights non-functional). After allowing the scooter to sit in the "off" position for several minutes and then returning the power system to the "on" position power returns and the scooter operates normally. Could a radio signal have interrupted the electrical circuit for the scooter or might it be an electrical problem in the scooter itself?

Thanks for your help. One other piece of information is the scooter had been driven approximately one mile at top speed following the same route when the two separate loss of power incidents occurred. I'll follow your instruction and check the battery connections first. If the connects are clean and secure then you're suggesting faulty controller. Is the controller easily accessible? Is the controller is a sealed unit that is easily removed and replaced. Where will it be located. Thanks again for your input.

Always check the battery connections first because too many times it is a loose connection or battery bolt. it would happen more if you drive it a long distance, or up a hill and the controller over heats or if you are hitting a bump. when the controller cools down it drives again.

If you have a CTM UNIT, with Dynamic Modular, then you have batteries not holding charge. If this happens only when ur using your product, then batteries will be the issues.

The freewheel lever is in the neutral position (which allows you to move the scooter around by pushing it. Turn the key switch off then move the lever to the drive position , turn it back on and it should run fine. The freewheel lever is sticking up through the plastic cowl. It is located under the seat on the right hand side near the rear of the sccooter

Battery won't stay charged and has been repalced twice since October

hi, you replaced the batteries twice? using the same charger, have you tried another charger ?, okay let me tell you about mobility scooter chargers, it quite complex but some chargers will charge your new batteries correctly due to resistance etc, it more complex than this however now as your batteries get older your charger maybe having a problem charging your batteries , not because they faulty, now this is due to internal resistance once again the batteries problem reappears within 3 to 6 six months , it could be just the batteries are not good enough , I have seen a whole combination of faults , please bear in mind there are some dodgy batteries out on the market....

so

1. first try another charger

check the freewheel lever on th rear of the chair near the right rear wheel if you can push the scooter easily then you are in freewheel locate the lever and move it to the drive mode and try to drive the scooter again if it still won't move then you have other problems that can only be checked by a service tech Hope this helps

Kymco midi foru, less than 6 months old batteries will not charge.

This will be due to the batteries being left uncharged for a long period of time. Should ideally be charged once a fortnight for at least 12 hours if the scooter is not used for any period of time. Unfortunately, the only real solution is new batteries.

I have the pro-rider mobility scooter 6 mph where would i find the fuse?

the fuse on most scooters is located under the seat, lift the back up and you should be able to se the batteries follow the wires from the battery to find a fuse.
