Question about Computers & Internet
I have a SAHARA laptop with 2GB RAM, 80 GB hard disk, 1.7 GHz Intel Centrino Processer. I bought a game CD, Cricket 2008 and tried to install on my laptop. It didn't work. The entire procedure was correctly done. I was just facing the problem in the end.
Where as when i tried it on a Desktop PC with about 1.5 GHz PIV processer and 512MB RAM, it worked.
I am just not getting the problem?
Chances are the desktop PC had a video accelerator and the laptop didnt. Laptops have integrated video cards that share the systems processor and memory to do its work. Video accelerators have their own dedicated CPU and memory and take the video work away from the system. A video accelerator with say 64 to 128 mb of video memory may have a 250 to 300 mhz CPU on the card. This means the system can dedicate the full 1.5 GHz and 512 mb of memory to the game. Integrated video cards like this one will give up about a third of its memory AND half of its processing power to run your game. In essence, the laptop is SLOWER than the desktop when playing the game. If the laptop is running Vista, then the slowdown is even greater.
