Deskjet 820cse wont feed paper - HP DeskJet 820Cse Printer

the paper is not feeding, but, I think it has to do with the paper tray.
It doesn't seem like the tray is going in correctly or attaching. I had the deskjet 820 for years and never experienced this problem

You could try cleaning the rollers with some soap and water. Make sure the power is off first.

Printer does not pick up paper to print.

The rollers may be dirty and slipping. I just fixed this problem on my old HP 820Cse by cleaning the three rollers with rubbing alcohol (99% isopropyl alcohol) as follows:
1) Remove the paper tray. The release lever is under the tray.
2) Saturate a small 4-layer pad of paper towel with the alcohol.
3) Try to print something. The rollers will turn. While they turn, hold the alcohol-soaked pad firmly against one roller.
4) Repeat 5-10 times for each roller until no more black stuff comes off. (Push the button next to the printer's amber light to repeat the print cycle.)
5) Slide the tray back in. You're good to go!

HP Deskjet 820 Cse will not load paper

I have fixed this problem by cleaning the three large paper feed rollers. You can get at them by removing the paper tray.

HP told me many years ago that, over time, additives used in the rubber material that makes up the rollers moves to the surface and makes the roller slippery so that it does not drag the paper forward.

I clean mine by rubbing the surface with a rag soaked in methylated spirits (a type of denatured alcohol). A fiddle of a task but it works.

Deskjet 820cse has a blinking yellow light and when you hit the button next to it the whole thing turns off like you are hitting the power button

I had this happen on my deskjet, it's the same symptoms as a paper jam, you can try seeing if there is any debris in the pathway, if you have some compressed air, try blowing the pathway free of any dust or hair this usually does the trick.

Hope this helps.

Paper feed

Make sure you fan the paper before putting it in. 20 sheets is usually about right for these printers.

If you put labels in the printer. Only put a few sheet in at a time and put paper stock below them.

Print alignment

hi, the printer has rubber rollers which pulls the paper in during printing, it seems like one side of the intake pully does not have enough presure or the rubber has hardned or worn out, hence it is slipping off, check that area , let me know.
