It sounds like your webcam software is hanging on to a program somewhere, and the chat program thinks its already in use. This is unusual, insomuch that the webcam continues to transmit - almost as if its being forced by another program. I always disconnect and re-connect the webcam to reboot it before going into chat, but its never had the light on. Have a good scan of your programs to ensure you have no redundant webcam software creating conflicts. I would suggest you uninstall the software - disconnect the webcam and install new software
you need to uninstall yahoo and then restart and then reinstall yahoo and set cam back up with yahoo may may need a newer yahoo version
can you use the cam with other programs

!st, let me explain the problem more clearer, then I'll explain the solution.
Problem) My camera worked fine. Even when logging on to Yahoo messenger, i could still veiw myself when chatting. But when I clicked on the "broadcast" button, the "idle" status would change to "connecting" for a few seconds. Then the the following message would pop up, " The server is busy, Please close this window & try again in a few minutes".
Solution) In Yahoo messenger, click on "Messenger", scroll down & click on "preferences". In Category:, click on "connection". Make sure that "no proxies" is selected.
make sure the driver in properly installed, to make sure try to uninstall the driver then restart your system then install again the driver. moreover double check if your webcam was detected by your computer and check its connection.
