- First of all can you connect to the router via cable (ethernet cable)!!! - Access the interface of the router and try disabling the wireless security on the router and save it.. With the help of your device try searching for wireless networks and if you see the router connect to it.. then if its connect it should work but careful ( anyone can access your connection then ) if that work then see with the person you bought the router..
PS3 is not finding your router. Make sure you choose wireless network under network settings and choose scan for wireless network. Make sure SSID on router is broadcasting and not hidden. Make sure router is broadcasting in G or MIXED mode. Try removing wireless security on the router (open mode) and testing to see if connection can be made. If connection can be made without security then try with security on. Place ps3 closer to the router or connect with ethernet cable to verify connectivity. Verifiy router is working by connecting a laptop or other device to the internet/router.
get the IP adress of your router and go to it online.... your PS3 has what is called a "MAC address. you have to enter the MAC address into the web page to allow access to the internet to the device. this is how i connected a friend of mine to his wireless internet. he tried for weeks with no result but after i did this he was able to connect instantly.
Your PS3 should have WiFi built in unless you bought he 20GB version back when it first came out, that is the only one that dosn't have WiFi. But you can still connect it the way you want. You can use any type of ethernet cable, straight through or crossover. You need to go into your network connections in the control panel, select wired and wireless connection at the same time and bridge them. That should do it if you wanna go that route but you would have to have the computer on anytime you wanted to connect your ps3 to the internet. The best bet I think would be to just use the WiFi built into the PS3
There could be a problem with the wireless configuration on ur belkin router.

:-Make it appropriate accordingly
:-if u do not know what to do with wireless settings ..then send me ur product details ..will tell u further querries..
Most of the time the wireless device do not connect to router due to wrong "Wireless network key"
:Make sure you have same wireless netwrok settings in the devices as in the wireless router.
:-Send me ur product details and ur setting details like
ISP(Internet Service Provider):-
Brand Name of the modem:-
Model no. of the belkin router:-
If u would like to resolve ur problem soon then send me all details..
First you need to find a Windows wired or wireless device already connected to the network in order to find out the required settings
Windows XP 1. Click start --> (sometimes settings) --> Control Panel --> Network Connections 2. Double click on the active connection which will say connected underneath 3. Click Support 4. Click Details 5. Now the IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, Primary DNS and Alternate DNS which are displayed should be noted.
Windows Vista 1. Click Start --> Control Panel --> Network and Sharing Center 2. Click on "View Status" to the right of your connection 4. Click Details 5. Now the IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, Primary DNS and Alternate DNS which are displayed should be noted.
Set these values under "manual settings" in the PS3 but add 1 to the last number for the IP Address as this has to be unique on your network
i strongly recommend if you try calling your isp provider again, i blv they actually have specialist trained for 2wire connection, you just have to ask for them...vista still has compatibility issues, did your router worked wireless with other pc like xp?..i hope you'll have this resolved already...
The ps3 wifi is very finicky --
While the ps3 scans for a hotspot turn the router off then on so the router aquires the ps3.
Goto network settings
Goto network connection, select enable
Goto Internet connection settings just below internet connection-
Push yes when it says you may be disconnected
Select wired or wireless
For wireless use scan or enter manually
Follow on screen instructions.
Once that is set up return to main menu and go to network near the right
Then once in the internet browser press triangle and goto file and enter the internet address you would like visit.
If all else fail use the ethernet cable to attach it to your laptop. Then run network setup on the laptop and add the ps3.
