Lose video when the video drivers are installed

I just bought an EL1200-05w. Connected everything and went through the initial setup. Got to my desktop and a tools box opens and starts to download. It gets to 4 or 7 and the screen flashes and I lose video. The computer is still running, but I cannot see anything. If I reboot, it starts to load windows and then flashes off again. Any suggestions?

I think its monitor problem .so you can check the data conector code pin .those pin are ok or not .if pin not ok you can change your data conector code. then the problem no solve. so you can show hardware enginer and he solve them.

Hi,

You are on the right track!
It sounds like you still need to download and install the LAN driver.
When you go to THIS website you will see the third file you can download is the LAN Driver - Nvidia Ethernet Driver.

After you install the driver and restart your computer should detect if you are connected to the internet via LAN cable.

Hope this helps!
Please let me know if this information was helpful!

Kind Regards

Compaq Presario - V3751AU My bluetooth mngt software missing. Drivers intalled and fine.

you need to re-install the whole thing. just follow the setup process. Initially it will ask you to uninstall everything just follow the instructions...all the previous installation will be overwritten...Hopefully the software program will appear on your program files. And also, please take note of the directory where you install the software driver itself. This will help you locate later the program executable file for this.

Do you have any discs given to you when you got the laptop? if you did have a look through them and there should be a driver suitable for your wireless internet driver. And also look through your internet service providers box which you were given your modem in and/or if its an external wireless drive (like u USB plug in wireless Internet) look for a disc because there might also be a driver for the wireless internet on the discs provided if you needed them to setup your internet. If not, Give the Technician a call and see if he/she has a backup of the drivers he/she used to setup your notebook. If they don't they will certainly direct you on the whereabouts to where you can find one and make sure its free since you purchased it pre-installed and was not given any discs which are meant to be given to you incase of such accidents.

Hope This Helps

XP won't recognize 2nd SATA drive and shows 1st SATA drive as drive F:

To get Windows to recognize the 2nd HDD, you have to initialize it in disk management.

http://www.simplyguides.net/guides/prepare_second_hdd/prepare_second_hdd1.shtml

As far as the drive letter for the OS install, that was caused by the HDD not having an existing partition and other drives in the system having one (Either USB Drive, Printer with a card reader, 2nd Internal HDD)

Here is a Microsoft article on how to change it, but you'll notice MS doesn't recommend you try it. (Personally, I can live with ah HDD with a drive letter other then C:, so can Windows.)

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/223188/en-us

In the future, when installing XP, boot to the CD, run the install to the point of formatting the hard drive. Once formatted, turn off the computer, reboot to the XP install again, the HDD will be assigned C:

As far as the drivers go, they needed to be installed in this order:
Desktop System Software
Chipset
Video
Audio
Network
Modem

I have a web cam but do not know how to install it.thanks

They usually connect via a USB port on the PC. Most installations require the camera not be connected until the installation process requests. It should have come with an install cd.....put the cd in and the install should self start...if not goto my computer, click on cd, then double click on Setup to initiate install. Follow directions....Good Luck.
PS...if you don't have install cd...do a Google search for the drivers for the specific make/model.
