NEC 338

I have an NEC 338 which works well (or, as well as it should) with one
little exception. Every now and then - totally at ramdon - it emits a
beep for about 1 second. I have no messages or calls or anything when
this happens and I've looked at all my settings but I can't explain
it.
Any ideas what may be causing this, or how to stop it?
