How do i change the heating element.

The heating element is accessible through the lower front access panel. Disconnect power to the dryer prior to servicing to avoid the risk of electric shock.

Remove the two screws attaching the bottom of the lower front access panel to the cabinet then slide the panel down then off the cabinet. The heating element can now be accessed and repalced.

Remove the screws securing the heating element to the heater box then pull down the heating element to remove it from the heater box.

Disconnect and label the wires for the heating element and the components. Remove the components from the old heating element then transfer it to the new heating element.

Slide the new heating element up into the heater box and secure it in place. Align the slots on the top of the lower front access panel with the locating tabs on the front access panel then slide it into position and secure the bottom of the lower front access panel to the cabinet.

Changing heating element on a frigidaire dyer

If you dryer lint screen is located at the top of your dryer your heating element is going to located at the rear of your dryer. You will need to remove the back of the dryer to get to it. You will see a housing and the element is located in there. If you lint screen is located in the door when you open the door then your heating element is located in the front. This one is easier to get to. Simply remove the bottom panel under the door and you will see the heating element right at the front on the right hand side. Make sure you unplug the dryer before working on it. If you have any other questions feel free to ask and also please let me know if this was helpful for you. Good luck and glad to help.

The dryer works but does not heat

Before you buy an expensive heating element change out the thermal fuse. It's only about 15 dollars for a fuse as opposed to around 100 dollars for a heating element. Both can be purchased at a appliance repair shop. The thermal fuse is usually located near the heating element housing and has two wires coming off of it. Make sure you unplug the dryer first though. If the thermal fuse if dead then your heating element will only heat for about a second or two at a time. The way to check this is to open up the dryer so you can see the heating element. While it's running watch it and it the heating element comes on and then turns off then the thermal fuse is bad. If it doesn't come on at all then the heating element is bad. Wait a good 5 minutes though before determining if the heating element isn't coming on. Sometimes it takes a bit before it engages. I hope this helps you and if you have any more questions feel free to ask me. Good luck.

Rowenta DX-8800 will not heat. Location of heating element?

The heating element is incorporated in the base. Rarely is the heating element bad. Its usually a connection or control problem. You cannot just replace the heating element.

HEating element

The heating element is located in the bottom left corner. You will need to remove the drum for access. Once you have the drum out of the way, look for a square box with wires attached. There are 10mm fasteners that hold the heating element to the vent. Rome the screws, mark the wires and positions then remove the heating element. Before replacing the element make sure the thermal fuse and the high limit switches are not faulty.
