did the speakers come with the pc? because gateways are color coded. look on your orginal paper work and it will tell you which one of the 3 holes to use or put yor speakers up and install them. do a restart and let the pc pick a driver to get them to work. usually it is a green slot but the slots are marked as to which is the one you want

I just moved my pc and not when I play sound I get nothing. which input do it use for the speaker jack. The computer is a gateway gt5662

Normally the ports on the tower are color coded. If you are using an analog audio output device connected through a standard 2 channel jack, the correct port to plug your speakers should be colred green.

Have a Gateway 700 X Desktop that powers up, loads XP O/S, and then powers down after approx. 15 seconds and reboots. This goes into a loop repeating this process. Any ideas ?

This could be a result of you accidently hitting your desktop while trying to move it and you may have knocked the fan off. You can't hear if the fan has been disconnected but it causes the tower to overheat and it will shut off and reboot over and over and over. Please contact geek squad or go to your nearestn licensed retailer and see how much it will cost to replace the fan, if needed. It will be covered under warranty if you have one.

Hope this helps ^^. Please dont forget to rate, Thanks

Gateway computer LX series need to recycle power before it will go into post.

The only reason I can see in a no POST issue is because of a defective hardware in your computer.

1. Try to remove all the cables at the back of your computer tower and power cycle it for 15 seconds.
2. Plug the power cord back in and the monitor cable only then start your computer.
3. Put the devices one-by-one to your computer tower until you see the faulty device.
4. If no faulty device detected after connecting all the connection at the back of your computer tower.
5. Try to open up your computer tower and reseat your Video card, memory, HD cables and CPU as well.

Let's investigate if the problem will reoccur.

I have a gateway gt5056 with no sound. tried other speakers, not the problem. How do i check/replace the sound board?

well take off the side panel of the tower you know the card you plug your speakers into? well there is 1 philips screw that holds it in place remove the screw and then gently rock the card back and forth while trying to lift it out now take the new card line it up and push downward it should seat itself all the way down then put the screw back where it came from and put back the wires for the speakers hope this helps if ya have any questions feel free to ask
