Question about Onkyo TX-SR606 Receiver
I have a Onkyo TX-SR606 receiver which was working perfectly until my 8 month old daughter got a hold of the remote.
The problem that now exists is I cant successfully use the input selector buttons to alternate between CBL/SAT and DVD. When watching CBL/SAT, pressing the DVD button will activate sound only, not vision. In order to get vision I must turn the recievier OFF then ON again and I get both sound and vision.
The same happens in reverse. Once I am on DVD, pressing the CBL/SAT button will return sound but not vision. In order to get vision the receiver must be turned OFF then ON again.
While both work fine once the receiver is turned OFF then ON, I should be able to simply press the input selct buttons to transition between both easily.
I am using Red, Black and White inputs and I have NOT touched the cabling as I know there is nothing wrong with this set up.
I have spent two hours running through different things in the manual and have no idea how to fix the issue.
You're right, it definitely shouldn't be doing that! i know that your cables are probably ok, but it sounds like you might have a little software glitch or something going on. i would highly recommend upgrading your cables to HDMI. not only will you have fewer wires to deal with, you will also be upgrading both your sound and your video quality. in addition, the HDMI connections should be totally seperate from the other connections internally. you might luck out and find that only the analog side of things was afflicted. check out Newegg.com. you can get a 6' cable for $10.
only other option is to send the unit in for service.
