Could you please clarify the error code? There is no "off r33" in the manual. Thanks.

Check to see if auto lever on rear is on dot. I accidentally moved mine and camera would not focus or fire when I was in automatic mode. I went to manual and everything was okay. Switched back to full auto and had same old problem.

I started thinking in the middle of the night that I should tell you what Rodney had me do.
Copy all pics on card to PC
Try to format the card but that didn't work so he had me hold down the trash can button and mode button until FOR appeared on the display and hit those buttons again. Card formatted, problem gone.

"error code" r33

Is this keeping you from shooting? Normally this is an informational message telling you how many more shots you can take in the current burst before the buffer fills up and the camera has to stop shooting and write to the memory card.

What does the error message CHA mean on a Nikon D70?

It means it can't read the memory card. Try formatting it. If that doesn't do it, try a different card.

When i took a picture with my nikon d70 the the outcome is quite bright where to adjust. i'm a beginner

1. You could lower the ISO setting. 2. You could lower the "exposure compensation" setting. It's the button that's half-black/half-white with a plus and minus. There are many other ways but you really should carefully read your instruction manual and experiment.

Nikon D70

The "For" message means you need to format the memory card.

Copy anything you don't want to lose off of the card.

Locate the LCD Illuminator Button (next to LCD on top) and the Shooting Mode button (next to Brackting button (BKT) on back). Next to both of these button should be the word "format".

Simultaneously press and hold both buttons for two seconds. The card will format. Once done, the LCD will display the number of pictures available to be taken on the card.

Digital Nikon D70S - memory card removed while turned on.

Hi - You can download the manual by clicking the link underlined in blue below:

Nikon > D70

See page 200:

Try resetting the camera in this way first to see if it clears the problem.

The -E- means that the camera cannot detect that a memory card is present see page 199.

Check that the card is properly inserted (page 20) and as a last resort try formatting it (you will lose any pictures on it):

Nikon D70 flash doenot fire

According to my information, the camera may need a new flash PCB (printed circuit board). Check the repair service search on this site for someone in your area. The part number for the circuit board is: 1S014-020-1 and runs about 50$

D70 USB setting issue

Users of Windows 98SE, Windows ME, Windows 2000 and Mac OS 9.x may experience problems trying to download images from the Nikon D70 using Nikon View. Initial shipments of the D70 have the USB option in the "Set up" menu set to PTP - Picture Transfer Protocol. PTP is only compatible for downloading images with Windows XP and Mac OS X. To solve this issue please set the USB menu option to Mass Storage and then connect the camera to the computer. The D70's card will then mount like a removable disk and Nikon View will be able to transfer images
