    Hi,
I've put to my hp nx6110 P4 2M cache 1,73GHz. Be careful because processors with 256 kB cache will not suit to this socket.

I've also upgraded HDD to WD2500BEVE (250GB) however only 131GB are seen. Had you got similar problem when you changed your hard disc?

Your CPU is tied into your motherboard. Only CPUs that are compatible with your motherboard will work. You can get your motherboard model from start>programs>system tools>system information. Once you have the model # then you can start searching for the CPU options. Good Luck.

Please rate this solution.

    32 bit or 64 bit

The terms 32-bit and 64-bit refer to the way a computer's processor (also called a CPU), handles information. The 64-bit version of Windows handles large amounts of random access memory (RAM) more effectively than a 32-bit system.

Can I upgrade from a 32-bit version of Windows to a 64-bit version of Windows?
No. If you are currently running a 32-bit version of Windows, you can only perform an upgrade to another 32-bit version of Windows. Similarly, if you are running a 64-bit version of Windows, you can only perform an upgrade to another 64-bit version of Windows.

I have a compaq presario V6105NR and it currently has a 2.5 inch 5200 RPM 100GB hard drive, i am looking to upgrade to a 7200 RPM 320GB internal drive and all i wanted to know was if my system will support...

Apparently the HP notebook model 441424-001 has a 200 GB HDD in it, I couldn't locate any specifications to what HDD size is the maximum supported by the BIOS of this laptop. I would say you are safe with anything under 500 GB.

On the HP website there's only information about RAM upgrade: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=3250961&

Only with a new MoBo. There are two RAM slots that each support up to 1GB. I was in your situation recently. I upgraded from Vista to XP and it works fine.
