Green line across top of screen on Sony KF-60XBR800

My Sony KF-60XBR800 has a distinctive green line across the top of the screen that appears to be getting larger as time progresses. I have replaced the lamp and otherwise the picture quality is just fine. Any suggestions?

I have a sony lcd projection tv model kf-60xbr800, green spots on the lower right corner , it start with one spot and now the spot are all over the screen

Those Rear LCD TVs get bad light engine on some. Causes fuzzy spots size of quarter. Or sharp small bright spots looks like road map or 'stars'. Need new/rebuilt light engine.

I would re check your steps. If you have a harness that is not hooked up, that is bad. It goes some where.

5 indicates lamp ballast failure p/n 1-468-510-15 . but thats not always correct. sometimes the tv doesn't detect it correctly and it's just the lamp XL-2000U p/n A-1601-753-A .

Vertical green lines

It sounds like th green LCD panel laminations or bonding has separated and this is causing your green lines. The optical block would have to be replaced to solve the problem.

As technology evolves, Sony continually looks to stand behind the reliability of its televisions. It has come to our attention that a very limited number of televisions manufactured between 2003-2005, after a period of time exhibit a stationary scribble / random line pattern on the screen. Click here to see photos of this symptom.

As part of our commitment to quality, Sony is announcing that for any owner of this model television who paid out-of pocket expenses on or before May 26, 2006 for an estimate or repair service to replace the optical block for this specific issue, Sony will reimburse the customer by mail for his/her parts and labor expenses. To receive reimbursement, please follow completely the directions and terms on the claim form for reimbursement; all claims must be postmarked by May 31, 2007.

In addition, for any customer who later experiences this issue on one of the affected models, Sony will cover the cost of the optical block repair at no charge through September 30, 2007. All other terms of the Sony limited warranty continue to apply.
