Your notebook is a newer model, so it should have some kind of built in wireless adapter.

Here is a brief guide for your specific model of laptop which may help you diagnose any wireless issues:

Need to figure how to connect mifi 4082 to Internet

It should have an RJ45 port to connect it directtly to your modem or router. If you want to connect using wireless you will need to get a wireless card if it doesnt have one built in. Go into device manager and under network adapters it will say the make and model then wirelless network adapter at the end of it. if you have one installed/built in and its not showing there you need to install the drivers for it. Once you have it there you just need to go into contol panel to your network connection and create a new connection for it.

I install window 7 ultimate and remove home basic, now no wireless

Hi

You do not give any details about either you rcomputer or its motherboard, so I cannot direct you to a specific web page.

Upgrading from Win 7 HB to Ultimate may have corrupted your Wireless LAN Adapter.

Windows 7 has a very comprehensive built-in driver database, but some drivers might still be missing, so you can go to the relevant computer or motherboard manufacturer's website and download and re-install the Wireless LAN Adapter Drivers and reinstall them.

Check Start>Computer>System Properties>Device Manager

If Network Adapters has a yellow exclamation or question mark next to it, then the driver might be missing, corrupt or in conflict with another or a previous version of the driver.

Right click on the Wireless Adapter, then follow the Update Driver option, to install the new driver you've just downloaded.

For safety and future ease of reference, since some manfacturers do not supply driver discs, download a full driver set and save these on an external device like a memory stick or an external hadrd drive.

Hope this helps.

Does windows home edition on a laptop vista support Wi-fi please send me a email on umar_da_don@hotmail.com. Please reply only to my email as i do not chekc this

It depends on the "age" of the laptop.

Any "new" (within the last 3 to 5 years) laptop will have built-in wireless capability.

If you have a really-old laptop, then you would have to add-in a wireless adapter (either into a PCMCIA slot, or into a USB slot).

I have F5D7230-4 router. Modem downstairs connected to DSL. Computer upstairs needs a wireless card to work This is a ''G'' router, but it only picks up signal upstairs with a ''B'' card which I stole...

The Belkin F5D7230-4 router should offer "Wireless G" connections,
unless you have used its built-in web-interface to only allow "Wireless B" connections.

So, if your "upstairs" computer, with a "Wireless B" adapter, connects, it will connect only at the slower "Wireless B" speed.

If you want "Wireless G" speed, you will need to purchase a "Wireless G" adapter.

Relating to bluetooth

If I got it correctly you have a built in wireless bluetooth adapter but you did not get the software and possibly the driver either when you bought the laptop. If it is a a built-in bluetooth adapter then you need to look for your laptop manufacturer's site and find you laptop in the downloads section and you can download their own software and driver from the Vista section.

If you are using an outside dongle then almost for sure you'll be able to use BlueSoleil, though if you could not get the dongle recognized then you still need to find drivers to it. You can most likely download the Vista driver from the manufacturer's site.

If you name the manufacturer /of the laptop or the dongle/ I'll help find the driver or software for you.
