Question about HP OfficeJet k60xi InkJet Printer

1 Answer

I can't figure out how to get my scanner to work. It is a new HP Officejet j4550 all-in-one. When I ask it to scan it says "no scan options, see device documentation for troubleshooting"

It doesn't... it didn't come with a manual. I just downloaded it off the internet. And that simply says, it won't work if it isn't installed. I have installed all the software the machine came with. I am about to toss it out the window. Help!

Does the instal disk say it is for the VERSION of windows that you have? If not , go back to the download link and download the scanner driver for the version that you are using, and install it.

Scanner won't work with windows vista

Option one: Scan using Windows Fax and Scan
  1. Click the Windows icon (c01319360.gif ), click Programs , and then click Windows Fax and Scan .
NOTE: The Windows Fax and Scan option is available in the Business, Ultimate, and Enterprise editions of Windows Vista. If you have the Home Basic or Home Premium edition of Windows Vista, skip to Option two: Scan using Paint .

HP4550 No Scan Options: Refer to Device Documentation

Double click the icon on your desktop called hp direc tor/hp solution centre.
point to settings and the point to scan settings.
click on the option that says scan to setup.
a new window will open with a list (called the destinations list).
select each item on the left hand side and then there will be a right arrow button click on that.
Once your done with all items then at the bottom of the new window there should be either an ok/update the device button now try to scan this should now work.God Bless

My scanner is not working...The printer is working properly. When I click on the Scan button it asks me for a source but i have no sources as an option.

Hi,
The all in one solution software you used in XP doesn't work fully with Vista.

But you can still scan and copy by using Windows Photo Gallery.

1. Click on files tab at the top in Window Photo Gallery.
2. Click on import from camera or scanner.
3. Highlight your scanner icon (ie HP OfficeJet 6110) then click import.
4. New scan window will popup, now you can preview or scan using this basic looking Vista utility.

Hope that helps.
