Studiophile Av 20 Speaker has power but no sound

Do the level controls/volume controls move freely? or with difficulty? are the jacks correct for length and polarity? Do they "pop" when input is unplugged?

M audio studiophile BX8a deluxe has very hot back panel when on after a few minutes

There is a problem with the amplifier internal to the unit, most likely from the main power transformer. Return to the place of purchase, or a service center for repair/replacement.

Sound through headphones only.

Try the speakers on another computer, to see if they work at all. If they do, then the problem is the audio-interface on your computer (or DVD-player, or home-stereo system).

Hello, i have m-audio dx4 studio speakers. the treble on one side has stopped working. they are over the warranty and would possibly charge more than i'm willing to pay, i wonder if it would be something...

only if you can get the replacement part from m-audio. if you replace the tweeter with a generic one, it will ruin the sound of the monitors, and m-audio, most likely, will not let off of 1 tweeter unless you send it to them for repair.

M-Audio DX4 Studiophile Monitoring Speakers - Fried!!!

Hi Mr Goodrice
Happy Holidays
You may friied the capacitor of power regulator, or power suppy module. have to get to some place to make the change, or you have to RMS the speakers to US to replace. no other thing can be done. also you need a special conector and transformer to get the right voltage there.
good luck

M-Audio StudioPhile DX4 4'' Woofer

The "voice coil" inside the woofer must be rubbing against the "yolk" plate. Meaning = it is mechanically blown(damaged) to a point but electrically intact.
My sugesstion is to take out the damaged woofer and "google" for a mew woofer with the correct impendance and size and mounting holes. If you dont know thw impendance, then you should go with at least 8 ohms. More ohms = less risk of overloading the amp. whick can cause a fire!

Good Luck!!
