I used zedge.com to pick a 29 sec. piece of a sone to use as a ring tone. I copied it (supposedly) to my sd card, but can't find it on my phone. Also, I took a video using my phone and have copied it (once again, supposedly) to the sd card, but nothing shws up when I put it in the computer. I want to send the video via email on my pc.
Re: How can I use music as a ringtone on my Lg C920?
Look under your Music Player for the ringtone, instead of looking under audio and ringtones. Then open it like you want to listen to it. choose "Set as" then Ringtone ID. this should work as long as the file is formatted as an MP3

If you are looking for ring tone for your HTC Trophy, you can go to this site to get a full list of ringtones available for your HTC.
Thank you for using Fixya. your recommendation is highly appreciated for the free support.
You can go to a web sight such as Zedge.com and legally download free ringtones. You can save them to your computer then plug your droid in USB and copy the files to the sounds folder on your phone and VOILA you have new ringtones. Now just go to the sound settings in your phone and you should see set ringtone, set message tone Ect... Select the one you want and you are all set. Zedge.com has many ringtones and such that are really loud, you may need to search for one you like but Im sure you will find one.
Go to settings to phone to sound and select message tone. (or on those lines). There you will find a list of all the ring tones, including your MP3 collection. Select the ringtone that you have as your ringtone.
Follow the path:
(1) Menu_Contacts search for the contact you want to assign a ringtone. Select "Options", you will get a Menu containing option "Edit". Select it and you can add or edit a ringtone to the specific contact.
(2)You probably wont get option to assign ringtones, if the contact is saved to your sim. So first u got to transfer the contact to you phone memory. This is how.
Just go to Menu_Contact and search for the contact and press edit, you will get a option "Copy to phone". Select it and copy it to the phone memory. Once copied you can edit the ringtones by following the steps as in (1)
The ring-tones that are saved to your memory card, if mp3 file, will only play within your music player. You cannot assign any ringtones on your memory card. You must either download a ringtone of your choice from Sprint.com (which costs per ringtone), use your "voice memo" to record your desired music and assign it as your ringtone, or download any ringtone of your choice from certain webhosts that other the service for free such as: myxer.com, mobiles24.com, phonezoo.com, zedge.com.
actually there is, use a program called Goldwave. open the song u want, trim it to 20-30secs, and save it as an Mp3, 44100hz 48Kpbs mono, then save it to the memory card. using the phone, goto the memory card, select the song you just edited. and set as ringtone. Done.
and yes this does work as i've currently got Sum 41 - With Me as my ringtone
