Re: restore still wont let me in
If you know how to put the phone in DFU mode your itunes will see it as in recovery mode and allow it to be restored. If your planning on unlocking the phone for use without an iphone account, It's super important to restore the phone with firmware from 2.2 5G77 back. Don't restore to 2.2.1 Get the firmware here
For putting in DFU Mode Plug the usb into the iphone and not into the computer. 1) turn your phone all the was off. (with the red slider) 2) Hold the home button for 5 second and then press and hold the power button for 7 seconds (Holding Both buttons down) 3)let go of the power button and keep holding the home button for an additional 27 second. your screen may go blank. don;t worry now plug your usb into the computer with iTunes open. iF it mounts in itunes it will say it's in recovery mode. press the shift key and press restore with you mouse choose the iphone firmware you downloaded from the link and restore.

iPhone Is Disabled
After a series of more failed attempts, your iPhone displays the same "iPhone is Disabled" message, but with an added "Connect to iTunes" message. At this point, your iPhone shuts down completely and you cannot make any more attempts to enter the passcode. In order to restore the device at this stage, you need to connect it to a computer with iTunes installed. Ideally, connect it to a computer that you've used before for syncing your iPhone.
Try the passwords you used frequently. And be careful about the character capitalization. Or you can try the Apple ID password, iTunes password. If all do not work for you, you may need to find other methods to solve this problem. For example, access your iPhone into DFU mode or Set it to factory settings (but this will erase all the iPhone data, so make sure to backup your important iPhone data before going on). Here is a good article which gives a specific solution to get your iPhone passcode back.
many wrong tries of entering the wrong passcode can lead to a disabled
iPhone. You have to restore the phone in iTunes to be able to use it
again. To be able for iTunes to detect your iPhone in recovery mode and
you to restore, you have to enter dfu mode. Just press the home button
and sleep button simultaneously for 10 seconds then release the sleep
button but still hold the home button until iTunes can detect the phone.
Then press restore and let it do the rest of the process.
This is a security feature of the iOS. You can either ask your friend for the security passcode or restore the iPhone in iTunes. The problem is documented here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212
Remember that restoring the iPhone will erase all of its settings and contents. Good luck!
HI, you dont need all that. Just click on restore or update.. Dotn worry, its quite safe. once its done restoring, google for blackra1n. Download that installer, and it will do everything for you. I had the same problem as yours but after the steps i made, i am using it for the past year now.
The only way is to reflash a new firmware and wipe the code as well as the phone clean. To do this start itunes on your computer. Then connect your phone to the computer. Once itunes detected your phone hold the POWER and the HOME buttons down at the same time for about 10 seconds. Once the phone flashes off, let go of the POWER button and keep holding the HOME button until you see a message on the itunes telling you that your phone is detected and needs to be RESTORED. Follow directions and it will do its job. I appreciate your positive vote. Thanks
