Question about Kenmore 24032\24036 Top Load Washer
110.28974891 Washing cycle worked great, During the spin cycle however, my washing machine started a loud, fast clicking sound (about 4 or 5 clicks per second). When I went to inspect the noise, I saw that my ceiling light fixture was pulsing to the lurching sound coming from the motor. The spin cycle was not reaching top speed and was really irratic - slowish, then speed up a little, then slow again with no pattern or rythm. The click, the heave of the motor ,and the pulsating of my light fixture are all in unison. When the click would slow down, so would everything else.
I took all the clothes out, tried all the different spin cycles only to recieve the same results. It is on a 20 amp circuit by itself.
Look for loose wiring connection at the motor capacitor (located beside the motor). Remove the connectors to the capacitor (one at a time), adjust connectors so they crimp the capacitor connection tabs tighter if necessary, and re-install. *Be very careful not to touch both capacitor connection tabs at the same time or you will get a good zap!*
If that doesn't help, you may have a defective motor.
