Dynex Wireless-G Desktop Adapter is making my Win XP freeze within seconds after logging in. I've tried uninstalling, installing about 5 times. I'm doing everything by the install directions, nothing seems to help. It's a Compaq Presario Desktop.

Any help would be appreciated

You likely need to reinstall the driver. when Windows is trying to install it, it seems to be crashing.

Try starting up in SAFE MODE

tap the F8 key as you are booting the computer to bring up a menu with a safe mode option.

after you start up in safe mode, try plugging in the card. See if the driver loads then. If it does, I would try maybe UNINSTALLING the driver from the device manager. Then reboot to standard Windows, and see if you can get it to install that way.

If that doesn't work, see if there is an updated driver for your version of Windows on their website, and try to run the driver install before plugging the card in again. Hopefully getting a fresh driver in there can prevent it from crashing.

If the card NEVER worked...it could be that it conflicts with another kind of driver on your machine. You may want to consider getting a different brand or taking it to your local tech to see if they can help
