Acer Aspire One Messenger Doesnt Work Anymore

maybe there's a problem in YAHOO not the laptop, 'cuz if the laptop had the problem, it wouldn't work, so try reinstalling the Yahoo Messenger again.

Please try to uninstall yahoo messenger and then try to reinstall to check if the issue persists. Let yahoo choose your internet configuration itself, even if it does nt work then try go to connection prefernces in messenger.

in this case the problem is with the msn...try to reinstall the windows live messenger ...there are available new updates on windows site ...just google for windows live messenger ..and it will gave you solutions for download
so ..reinstall cause it it was the camera..it should just not work ...but you should be able to see other people web cams..

if ur drivers are updated from www.acer.com then u should look into settings of yahoo messenger and select and test ur camera but these settings will only work when u are online try if it helps check ur camera if it works somewhere else

hello hope this helps,you need to update it and you cant download msn because "Aspire One" models arn't windows vista or any other version of windows.
You need to keep pressing live update on your download on the settings found in the bottom right hand corner.
it will eather come up with a box saying nothing has been found, if so just press retry.
or on the other hand a box will come up stating ALL of the updates you can have. these are called "patches"
just press accept and it will take about 5-10 minutes to download.
then the messenger that is built in will work so no need for windows live.

uninstall messenger then reinstall
then try to setup audio video once it's reinstalled
this should allow you change your settings

The cause of this problem is a combination of the new Windows Live Messenger 9 beta and McAfee antivirus trial that is installed on your Aspire.

Several solutions are availabe:

1. Simply to update your McAfee Antivirus. You can do this by selecting the update function in McAfee's interface. This should fix the problem instantly.

2. If step 1 does not work, you can, if you dont care much for the new Messenger look, uninstall version 9 and just install 8.5 again. This has no known problems at all.

Press your home blue button, go onto settings in the right handside bottom corner. Then select live update. As its the first update it might take up to two days to load. After that you will be able to use messenger :)

may be the driver files are missing .. just update it and see ...
