Question about Brother MFC-9840CDW Laser Printer

Low Toner Warning

Someone explain this, please...I bought a 9840CDW 2 months ago.
So far I probably printed 100 BW text pages and another 100 or so CD color labels and CD color booklets.

Yesterday I had my first big run: 50 full color duplex flyers with an image size of 7x9 inches on the 8.5x11 area.

I checked the toner levels prior to starting. and all 4 colors were as full as the first day of use.
After the first 50 pages came out, I sent the comand to print another 50 pages, and in the print dialog box I got a "Low Toner" warning message.

I checked the levels, and all were still full as the first day, except for the magenta toner which showed up as 90% empty! The image was not a 7x9 solid magenta block; it is an outdoor garden image with some text floating on top of the image on one side and a light clouds with more text on the other side.

I'm aware of the 5% yield theory and I read about the black tape trick and the software cartridge reset but, come on! Aren't these fixes a little premature in my case? I only printed 50 duplex pages!

Are the factory installed cartridges so small? Why didn't the other 3 toners show no change at all?

Any clues anyone please?

Turn the unit off. Remove the cartridge and shake it back and forth. Ten place it and turn the unit back on. Also you can reset the counter on the cartridge, go to UNI KIT and look under Brother TN 110 refill support. These people sell refills. The ink you get with he printer is minimal. Also turning the printer off and back on will help with resetting. I found that there is plenty of toner left when the warning comes on.

Printing nothing

Do you still have some toner in the cartridge? The last time the printer was working correctly, did you noticed that the text/images where light? When you make a color print, do you have something on the page?

Text missing when document is printed from Brother MFC-9840CWD

Hello,This issue may becaused by poor connection. Check to see if all interface connection cables arein the printer. If the printer doesn't establish good connection with thecomputer print quality will decrease.Second thing you can check are thesettings on the computer. Are they matching with settings in Brother MFC-9840CWD.This is issue is not caused from the toner cartridge or drum unit.

I have just taken out 800 pages and I receive toner low message today I purchased this printer on 3rd March in Belgaum and I was told that after 2000 pages the toner will have to be refilled. But hardly...

this warning comes early to give you time for purchasing new toner, it is still enough toner for about 100 to 150 outprints in the cardrige, this depense on how the print is used by % if you have always a full page the toner might not last for 1000 prints.

The Toner light flashes, it will not print .

Have you replaced the toner? By your post, it doesn't sound like it. Toner only lasts so long, it does run out, and then it's time to replace the cartridge. You can probably buy one from where ever you bought the printer, otherwise, is always a good place to buy things.

Faint vertical lines on Samsung ML-2010

Was the toner remanufactured/ compatible?
Sounds to me like the doctor blade in the cartridge is 'gummed' up and not allowing the toner to flow evenly across the Developer roller......try another cartridge

Ink rubs off or prints double/messy

Sounds like your fuser is getting ready to stop working. Your fuser creates the heat so the toner from the cartridge is baked onto the paper as it passes through, your toner is rubbing off, so you could try cleaning, but I'm sure it'll be a new fuser, or possibly a fuser roller. Your owners manual has all the information and step by step trouble shooting guide to let you know.

Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came withthe printer. When the software program asks you to connect theprinter to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud
