Question about Philips 42PF9956 42 in. HD-Ready Plasma Television
"and a crack"?
Is the plasma screen actually broken?
If so, you can disregard the following . . .
All digital sets have semiconductors that can control areas from pixel size to the entire screen in an X-Y matrix. When a section of the screen fials, it is because a portion of the drive circuits has failed. In some sets, the final drive circuits are part of the display itself and can't be replaced without replacing the entire display.
