Powers up fine, all connections in place. When a cd is placed into the tray and closed, then play button pressed, an error message indicating "no disc" is displayed. This occurs with various cd's I have previously played without a problem.
Try unplugging the unit, then remove the cover. Take a cotton swab, wet one end with glass cleaner, and clean the lens on the laser assembly. Use the other end to dry it off and finish cleaning. Wipe very gently, do not press down hard on the lens.
This problem is usually (not always) caused by dust and smog accumulating on the lens, preventing the laser from reading the disc. Symptoms are skipping, spinning and not reading, or "no disc" errors.

turn on the unit and then tried to press the play button while the cd tray is in place. if doesn't work, unplug the dvd player then open the cover to access the internal part. look for a broken limit switch for cd tray mechanical assembly or check weather the cd not in proper place in the tray that is why an error occur.
