Singer 7444 trouble winding bobbin

I have a brand new Singer 7444 that won't wind the bobbins properly. After winding for a little while, the thread starts wrapping around the shaft under the bobbin. I then stop the process by releasing the pedal only to find that the thread that's on the bobbin is really messy. There are some loops of loose thread for example. Please help!!!!

It sounds like you don't have any tension on the thread when winding the bobbin. Make sure that you are running the thread through the tension disc on the top of the machine before going to the bobbin winder.

Having difficulty winding a bobbin, the thread goes across the "top" of the bobbin not inside....any help

Check that the bobbin is seated all the way down on the bobbin winder spool. However, the bobbin winder most likely needs a slight adjustment. I have several machines that tend to wind the thread either high or low on the bobbins so I just use a stiletto or pencil to raise and lower the thread as it winds. It helps to wind the bobbin at a slower speed--reduces stretch on the thread and allows you the ability to manually guide the thread onto the bobbin.

If you'd like to save wear & tear on your machine and be able to wind bobbins without unthreading the machine, look for a stand-alone bobbin winder (one brand is called "Sidewinder"). They cost around $30 and can be found online or at most fabric stores like JoAnn's. Just be sure to verify your bobbins will work on the winder--some Singer and other brand bobbins will not work.

Singer 9217 thread winds under bobbin instead of on bobbin

Make sure the bobbin is seated all the way on the winding pin. There may be an adjustment for it--a technician can probably fix it for you. However, you can also try lifting the thread with a pencil tip just before it winds onto the bobbin. Some of my machines wind the thread unevenly (more on the bottom than the top of the bobbin) and I balance it out by lifting it when winding.

Trying to wind the bobbin on my singer 6268 but the thread keeps winding under the bobbin. What am I doing wrong?

if the bobbin winder is driven of the end of the machine then you may have to guide the thread as it winds onto the bobbin
if you are allowing the thread to come directly from the reel and it is not in line to the bobbin then what you have is what will happen

My Janome 3018 will not wind a nice tight bobbin. They are loose and spongy. This machine is brand new. I have double checked that it is threaded properly and the thread is in the correct place and

You are not exactly threading the machine when you wind the bobbin. So follow the directions for winding the bobbin, make sure the thread fits under the little revolving wheel, and make sure that the stitch part of the machine is disengaged.

Singer Touchtronic 2000 - it will not wind a bobbin, I have found a manual onlin that says you just drop it in and push the foot feed and it will wind the bobbin but it doesn't do anything.

Take your thread that is under the presser foot and wind the thread on the tension disk. It is located right above and to the left of the presser foot. Then you will drop in the bobbin and slide the thread into the **** in the top of the bobbin. Push the little white tab in the bobbin slot all the way to the right until it is in the center of the bobbin. Then press the foot feed and the bobbin should wind.
