Question about Proscan 32LB30QD 32 in. LCD TV

DVD input channel reads "no signal" when I try to play a DVD

I've had the Proscan 32LB30QD TV for only 4 months and now the built-in DVD player won't work. The discs go in and out of the player fine, there are no foreign objects stuck in it. I change the input on the TV to DVD and the screen just reads "no signal" and will not play the DVD.

it seems like a good solution, but i just don't care enough to go through all that to fix it. I was trying to see if someone knew it was something simple like doing something the TV menu, but if it is that complicated i don't have the time and money to deal with it, so thanks for your input

First I would run a dvd cleaner in unit! Second you could take tv apart and look to see if signal cable is loose. the power wire seem fine as it powers up, and accepts an eject dvd.

If it is not the above quick solution then it is your signal board is bad! this is not hard to replace. The signal board streams the all inputs to the lcd screen via the lcd controller! You can order a signal board from www.shopjimmy.com, you will need your brand and model number! Good luck, I hope this is helpful!!

Some of their very old sets the video input was located on channels in the 90's; Try scrolling down from 99 to 90 to see if you locate the video input; this is just the way they did things in the older sets.

I did not receive a manual with my tv. Can you send me a link to download one? proscan 32 lcd hdtv with built in dvd player. also the dvd player is skipping and I only have had the tv for 3 days? any...

Hello,

I found the manual on-line, here is it's location;

http://www.managemylife.com/mmh/lis_pdf/OWNM/L0807524.pdf

For the issue with the built in DVD player, I would first try different types of DVD's to see if there is a problem with one type in particular. Check the Manufacturers website to see if there is a firmware update for your model (may not be applicable for your model). Try to use a DVD cleaner disk that is appropriate for the DVD player since it operates in a vertical position rather than a horizontal one.

I hope this helps.

Cheers!

Trying to hookup vhs analog player to hd proscan

your toshiba player should have output composite video and audio which are color coded Yellow for video, red and white for audio same goes for proscan hdtv. connect between the two keeping in mind color of cables. If the toshiba player is really old you can connect the RF cable output to antenna input to the proscan tv and watch taped programs from the player on channel 3 of the proscan tv. If then you want to keep the hookup and still watch HDTV connect the antenna to the toshiba vcr and when you shut off the vcr you can now watch the hdtv channels as usual because now you are bypassing the antenna to the Proscan tv. Hope this Helps..

What is your TV input connection? Are you using Antenna? Cable? Dish?

The Unusable Signal sounds like the TV is not getting a signal. Does your TV have a built in HD Tuner?

If you are using Antenna you might want to try setting up the connections and it should search for quality channels that you get good signal strength. If you are on channel 2 and there is no over the air channel 2 it may say "unusable signal".

I have a 30 year old tv w/cable. I want to install a dvd/vcr combo player. What kind do I need? I've tried one and it didn't have the right connection.

If the original TV doesn't have audio/video inputs, you'll need a DVD/VCR player that has a built-in RF modulator. A RF modulator takes the audio & video and modulates a RF carrier to one of the channels that your TV can receive. In the U.S., this is usually channel 3 or 4. If the DVD/VCR player has a built-in tuner, connect your cable to the RF input of the DVD/VCR player and the RF Output of the DVD/VCR player to the cable input of the TV. This way, you can receive your cable channels through the DVD/VCR player and watch movies as well. If your DVD/VCR player does not have a built-in tuner, you can put a RF switch inline that will allow your TV to either receive the cable signal or signal from the DVD/VCR player.

Good luck!
