Video stream is jumpy .Download and burn movies that freeze up
Had this problem before ,reformatted and fixed problem temporarally. Downloading movies takes along time and burning even longer. Then when I go to watch the movie and half way through it freezes up and won't play.Wasting time and dvd discs. How do I fix it and if I have to reformat will I lose all my photographs on the harddrive?

How much free hard drive space and memory is in the laptop? Are you running anything else while the burn occurs? Have you tried a slower burn speed? DVDs hold more than 4 gigs of data. In addition to burning the video to the disk, the files are being encoded. There is really no practical way to speed this up. Make sure youre not running any memory intensive programs during the burn. 256 megs of memory is feasible, 512 megs or more would be better. Hard drive space--you must have free space on your drive at least double the size of the files youre burning.

Need more information to really help you. Are you playing movies in the DVD/CD player of the laptop? Are you playing movies by streaming from Netflix or Amazon or Hulu or Xfinity? Are you playing movies from an external hard drive or flashdrive plugged into an older USB 2.0 port?
Your wi-fi connection may be too slow to stream without freezing. Your cpu/processor may be too old and slow to handle HD video. Your video/graphics chip built-in to the laptop may be old and not capable of handling HD quality video.

When downloading videos from sites such as You Tube, the download is known as "streaming video". It fills the buffers on your machine and then displays it on your screen. If your connection is not fast enough, the buffers will empty before the data stream can re-fill them. This produces the stop start situation. The best way to overcome this is to do something else while the video plays, then come back when it's finished and replay it...it will now play ok. If your connection is slow, then it's likey its timing out during the download of movies or TV shows, stopping the data flow.
You can download them at www.ovguide.com in the movies section then to MOVIE25 website .If you are to download streaming movies in formats such as FLV,AVI,DIVX etc you should get the software INTERNET DOWNLOAD MANAGER.It will intergrate into your browser and come up and download the video in whatever format it is.After you download the movie get the sofware VSO CONVERTEX TO DVD and it will covert the movie and burn it to play in your home dvd player.
Is this when you try a second and third time to download the same movie? Try a different one. Update to version 2.2 (came out last night). It has upgraded reliability for the internet. Hopefully that helps. Good luck!!
