Question about Galaxy Radios DX-33HML 40-Channels Base CB Radio
A) The DX33HML is a 10meter radio. this is true.
B) AS long as you place the HI/LO band switch in the high mode and the band knob (D/A E/B F/C) in the D/A mode you will only transmit on the (11meter band 26.965 thru 27.405 AKA the C.B. band) ch1 thru 40. You will not need a license. As of late the F.C.C. has not been messing with anyone on the lower or upper bands. BUT I AM NOT TELLING YOU TO DO SO. that is your choice to transmit on them.
C) as for an antenna I use the wilson 1000 magnet mount. The antenna will handle 1000 watts of power BUT on a magnet mount no more then 500 watts. BTW this kinda output power is not legal :( And you should find someone to check and/or set your SWR's on your antenna with any good swr metter. Any luck you will find someone with a Dosy metter.

I see that it was over a year ago on the last responce. But this may come in handy as far as Getting a Licence for "Any Rig" that is a CB/ 10 Meter radio. Unless it is an "Approved Model for 10 Meters" you are "Bootlegging" , meaning that it is not type excepted by the FCC. That is why I stick to my HAM GEAR. With the proper HAM TICKET, you may still be operating a Rig that Uncle Charlie will be more than HAPPY to DESTROY for you! Plus the FCC Loves to give out Large Fines. They do have the right, under FCC Rules to walk right in your Home, climb in your Truck or anyplace else they catch you at! Sad but True!!! Ya'll All Have a Blessed Season, if anyon reads this long over due responce.. 73, To Ya'll and Yours from W4Land, (Georgia). Collin....
