You had to plug it in the charger for a while and then you hel the power button for more than a minute
if it not work hold power button and volume up for 20 sec.
If the battery is to far below the minimum operating voltage most wall chargers can not charge the battery. Test the voltage of the battery and make sure it is charged to the minimum operating voltage (usually around 3.6v). If its too low you need to bump charge the battery with a power supply.
I replaced the battery and the charging port / ribbon cable and it still will not show that it's charging OR turn on. Is there anyone out here that could possibly give me some other ideas what could be wrong with it ? I even ordered a new charging cable that plugs into the factory wall charger and still nothing

Hold the power button down for up to 15 seconds. This should hard reset it. Not to be confused with erasing data.

Hold the up and down button and Power on for10 seconds and that should cause the Galaxy 3 to reset. Work for me.

Try to insert the SDCARD to a computer that has a card reader and see ifthe computer will detect the SDcard. If the computer can detect the card, then the card slot of your galaxy tab has a problem.
